And I know the point spread was relatively close for large mixed. Highland was ahead of Busco by 14 or so points, I can't remember exactly how much... But I DO know that Busco was ahead of Homestead by only 1 point.

Does anyone know the answers to any of the following questions about the Bellmont competition. We left early since we performed in the small show choir division.

Solo Competition Results??

Director who won the award for the Best Show Concept??

Scores for Anderson Highland, Churubusco or Homestead??

It's too bad there was no Finals at Bellmont. I would have really liked to see Southwestern again!

Believe small mixed results were:

GC- Southwestern
1RU- East Noble
2RU- Columbia City

Womens:

GC- Highland
1RU- Columbia City
2RU- East Noble

Dont know captions.

Choreo/vocals were to the respective GC's. I don't remember crews.

I do know that there was only a point between Columbia City's and East Noble's women's groups.

Ok hopefully my family got these results correct.
Large Mixed:

GC: Highland (vocals and choreography)
1RU: Busco (Band, Crew, and male soloist Alex McDowell)
2RU: Homestead

The results for the small mixed division are incorrect as stated above. The actual results are as follows:

GC - Southwestern
1st Runner-up - East Noble
2nd Runner-up - Columbia City
3rd Runner-up - Crestview
4th Runner-up - Southern Wells

Southwestern Esprit captured Best Vocals, Best Choreography and Outstanding Male Soloist. I am not sure of the other small awards that were handed out. But I know these to be correct.

are small mixed and large mixed both in the running for GC? if so then i'd watch out for columbia city too.. they just won GC in small mixed at ben davis last week and have already beaten homestead too

In the past they have been separated. Since there isn't a night show, each choir just competes for GC in their division.

I'd have to agree. It use to be that Homestead would have easily taken this, but they seem to be having some trouble finding their groove this year. I can't say I've heard/seen anything about Highland this year. I do know that 'Busco is having a great season, the MJ show is really working for you guys.

Having said that, can't really make predictions for this one, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if 'Busco walked away with GC.

That's awfully nice of you to say, but we regard Homestead and Highland as equals. Any of the three Large Mixed groups could easily go home with a big, snowflake-covered trophy; it just depends on who brings it to that stage.

So it looks like Busco will win just by showing up.

Y'know, I never thought about that. I have a schedule somewhere, but IIRC it goes women, small, large, correct? I was under the impression that solo comp would be during the women's and small competitions, top 3 or so finalists announced during small mixed awards, and then they would go right before large mixed, and then announced at large mixed awards.

I don't really know why I think this, though, it just seems like I heard it somewhere and it seems right for some reason.

Less than a week to go, so I thought I should bump this up. I was wondering how the solo competition will work with the small and large mixed being so far apart on the schedule. Will small mixed soloists compete against large mixed soloists, or will they be separated?
