A Facebook friend recorded awards, and Hastings got best band. They gave daytime rankings, which was odd, and all open division groups madefinals. Daytime rank:
1) Hastings (bb)
2) Linn Mar
3) Broken Arrow
4) Millard North
5) Ankeny
6) CR Xavier
I think Sam Kelly from Hastings also got best male soloist, but not sure about women's.
"Treble" prep results:
1) Broken Arrow (Bv, bb)
2) Millard North (best visuals)
3) Lin Mar
4)Ankeny Intensity
Prep:

3) Ankeny (Bv)
First it is a real treat to have the Broken Arrow choirs coming to Ankeny for this event. I think some may be being really kind with their predictions but personally I hope both perform well and score well after a serious trip like that. Broken Arrow as many of you know is the hometown of one Kristen Chenowith so they just might have tom singers/performers. Bengt Eklund is their choreographer...a familiar name to show choir fans esp in the Midwest. Shout out to Dr. Pete.
I think they are a really hard group to predict. They have managed some pretty impressive feats, like taking down Millard West last year, and beating Glenwood in prelims up at Mitchell a few years back. No matter where they place, you're right in that they deserve some major props for ALWAYS traveling out of their region to compete.
Agree. Wish I could see them....maybe somebody will post a clip. Would have been there for sure back in the day. Should be a nice season opener with some good groups.
