I'm sorry, but I cannot let Attache be put down like they are an average show choir. Their sound is untouched in purity in strength. Where most people sound like young men and young women, they sound like professional singers. There choreography is perfect and for me, there are very few groups who perform with real emotion anymore. The fact is Clinton is the best group in the South period. No one down here will ever beat them because no one can match their professionalism, vocals, or choreography.

Albertville beat them at Petal two years ago in prelims. Just saying. They have been beaten, and I'm pretty sure that the South is catching up to them, and I believe someone in the South will beat them in the next several years.

Looking through old forums again and came across this conversation.. This event was in 2010. 10 years later and a Southern group has still yet to beat Attaché. Gonna be interesting to see what direction Attaché goes now that the Fehr's aren't directing, but it's simply amazing to me that this conversation was 10 years ago and Clinton has still yet to lose to another Southern group and has only lost ONE COMPETITION since 2010. No other group has been as dominant in the show choir world, and I don't think that's an opinion. Thoughts?

Clinton was such a talent factory with Dave and Mary Fehr. Clinton still is, but one does have to wonder if they will still be the dominant, unbeatable group that they’ve been for so long. And if by some chance Clinton is no longer the dominant group down here, who will it be? Homewood, Auburn, Petal, and Oak Mountain are all strong contenders based off the last few years. We will have this same convo when Saban retires from coaching at Alabama.

I often find myself nowadays looking back at old forums like this all cooped up at home. It's incredible that Clinton not only held their rank in terms of Southern Show Choir, but continually going out of state to compete against other top-tier groups and remaining (almost) undefeated. Looking back I can't help but wish they would've gone with this competition instead of that competition in certain years and what have you, however, they really did travel to every corner of the US to compete against some of the greatest groups in the nation. There have been several very close scoresheets in the past 10 years, but I do agree it is not an opinion that Clinton has been the most dominant force in this decade. I'm curious to hear others' thoughts, and maybe even guesses as to who may could the most dominant going beyond 2020

Mr. Fehr doesn't seem like someone you would want to get mad.

But anywho, it makes sense to me about not posting. Whether we realize it or not, we often see a comment that we don't like, look at the poster and then at their school association. Then, we form an opinion of them. By keeping all of their opinions anonymous and to themselves, they maintain their image without risk of it being tarnished. But I don't think Attache kids would EVER say anything to threaten the integrity of their group, but it helps maintain their professionalism.

The top groups in the country (Clinton/Burroughs/Burbank/etc) are looked at more critically than others and the slightest thing people may make a snap-judgement. So it makes sense to me.

Well put! i couldnt agree more

Thats not what i mean, i personally dont think its fair but some of the kids actually agree with his reasons. But if thats what he wants to do then it's going to have to be accepted and respected. I dont think he threatens their spot in the choir, he might just get a little mad. And believe me when i say, he is the last person i would want to make mad (besides my own director of course). Everyone has their own opinions though

By doing what? Threatening their spot in the choir? On what level is that even remotely morally acceptable?

So to just to prevent that situation from occuring, he just doesnt let them post things...that seems the most logical way out to me

I agree with that. But you can tell anyone not to do something, but that doesnt mean they wont do it. So to just to prevent that situation from occuring, he just doesnt let them post things...that seems the most logical way out to me

i agree with this. i don't like the fact that ANY director wouldn't let their students post on SCC. It just makes me sad

Also true. But that's why while you are part of a choir, you don't say anything bad about other choirs or respond to others' disparaging comments about your group. And then when you become and alumni like myself, you can say whatever you want and it will only represent yourself. IMO it is still very inappropriate to say anything about another group that isn't constructive, but you still have the right to say it.

you shouldn't say anything bad (or something that could be taken as bad) about another choir. PERIOD

I am going to put forth an idea for Haakon...I think you should "pull a facebook" and add a "like" option so we can like what other people say...

So have a student only forum.

What good would a "student only" forum be if students are not allowed to participate?

True..but thats the way Mr. Fehr functions i dont blame him though, i dont think he'd be too happy if his kids were on here arguing about something and making the choir look bad...not saying that arguing would do that to a choir...but like the things people say, can and will reflect a choir as a whole...you know what i'm saying?

This is true. They see what's being said about them and their show. Good, ugly, and indifferent.
