I have to ask, who was the group in purple shirts? They sat on stage left and gave groups insane anounts of applause and were incredibly nice to our group. If anyone could let me know, that would be appreciated!

Manteno, maybe? I believe their school colors are purple so that'd be my guess.

From what it looks like from last years awards, nobody gets GC at this comp. You can only get 1st place in your tier. Im assuming this is because they do not have a finals comp.
