Hi, i'm a part of Andover's choir, and Nashville was so fun! I was amazed by all of the groups (I saw most of them) and I loved meeting some of y'all. New England doesn't do finals, and this was the first time ever that Andover made finals on a national trip! Congrats to everyone that performed, the comp was great!

Troy Buchanan and Carroll tied in overall raw score. HOA uses forced rankings as the tiebreaker instead of Best Vocals. Congrats to Troy Buchanan for winning GC in an amazing day of competition.

Ive come to realize that Hurricane is smart where they go and tend to follow some of the same judges that they’ve hired to judge their comp this year// or just have been adjudicated by in general.. Ill be curious to see how this affects the outcome.
GC: Hurricane
1RU: Troy
2RU: Caroll

I don't think it's really that deep. Directors don't use judging panels as a deciding factor when registering for competitions. Heck, the vast majority of times a director doesn't even know who's judging a competition when they're registering for it. That's just not how it works. I'm assuming you're referring to Garrett Breeze, who judged at Hurricane and Menchville and/or Dennis Gilbar who judged at Menchville. Those are the only judges who have overlapped to our knowledge for Hurricane's season. I mean, the same could be said about Troy Buchanan - Steph Hyatt judged Troy's comp and Marty Lindvahl judged Troy at Chesterton. These are just fluke things that happen as the show choir world isn't that big. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment. The wording and phrases like "(they're) smart where they go" and "follow some of that same judges that they've hired..." seems to imply something that isn't really there.

I don't know anything about WV show choirs so getting a chance to see Hurricane will be fun. They've done very well this year and that's obviously not by accident. Carroll and Troy have performed well in tough competition against some national powerhouses. This will be a great show to watch. Thanks to HOA for putting on another high quality competition.
