When was the last time there was an example of a smaller school ever beating one of the invited groups? Honestly very curious, I can't recall that happening. Also, this exhibition event is purposely positioned the weekend of ISSMA State Finals.

Plainfield lost to North Central by only a point last year, so I'm sure it has happened before. Also, many smaller schools are just as good as the larger ones. Having smaller schools would definitely showcase, overall, more of the talent schools have. Saying that, it does make sense for only the largest of groups to participate.

I hope they might release scores just for the heck of it. These are literally the (albeit historically) most decorated choirs in all of Indiana, easily top three state in the nation. It almost seems a travesty an opportunity for a competition of this high caliber isn't going to be competitive. IMHO OFC

I noticed that they are all considered "large school" with ISSMA...wonder if they (Butler) would ever consider inviting some of the "small school" choirs...there are several that are exceptional and compete and beat the large school choirs frequently. I think of Busco, Dekalb, Plainfield to name a few...

I doubt they'd attend. They tend to go to contests they can win. I works absolutely love for them to be there. I'd be willing to consider this the state championship with them there lol.

They were originally planning on going, and then I believe they decided to go to a different contest. A shame really, but the caliber and quality of this exhibition is still super high!

I did some minor digging and added it to our event list as a result. The Butler Sing! website doesn't currently list Zionsville, but we can always add them later if they end up attending. As more details emerge, feel free to post.

Does anyone have any details on Sing! at Butler on March 19? I haven't seen it as an event on the website. I know Center Grove, Carmel, Franklin Central, North Central, and Zionsville are supposedly going, however I also heard that Zionsville will not be able to attend.
