Hey Butler performers....

Great show! I heard one of you had cardiac issues just before you went on ...hence the ambulance call. Is everyone OK?

Actually he is still in the Hospital with a 103 Temp... He had a sinus Infection that went too long without being treated and the infection got into his heart. The sack around his heart then became inflamed and he had to have surgery Sunday Morning for a Catheter in his heart. They say if he had performed or got on the bus after the performance he probably wouldn't have made it... but he should be fine and back in Kansas in a few days.

Thanks for the care!

I know how frustrating it is... it's happened to me a handful of times (yes, here on SCC, as well as elsewhere). It's just second nature for me now to *always* copy whatever I enter in a form before I send it that way I am always protected. It's a quick CTRL+A, CTRL+C and you're done. That being said, I absolutely appreciate and listen to all feedback and you can either use the website discussion forum or send me a PM if you have any issues with the site and I do the best I can to fix things. It's difficult to make everything perfect all the time, but we do listen and are doing what we can to improve every day.

I know, but it didn't do this on SCC before, and it doesn't do it on the other forums I go to. I'm just frustrated because I was going to send a long thought out message to someone and it logged me out, and now this happened too

No matter what site you visit, whenever you type something on an internet forum, always select it and copy it before you submit it. Then you're guaranteed protection no matter what.

I am so pissed off. I typed out all of my thoughts on this comp and it timed out on me. This is getting ****ing ridiculous

So after I gave myself time to comprehend what I watched this weekend I am going to post!

SCE- I really enjoy your show this year and thought it was a great performance by you (granted i had not seen you since Benton.) The choreo was clean and one of the few groups that had some great blocking. The closer had the energy I was looking for that it lacked when I last saw you. I was very bummed you did not make finals. It was also great to spend the day with Nick and Heath and hope to see you guys next year! (Come to Linn Mar!! or mo show)

Jackson Prep- You had some great choreo and show was solid, the vocals just really lacked for me and lost interest, but it was great to finally watch a MS choir not named Clinton!

Horizon- Didn't watch day rounds because I was a hungry boy and didn't get back in time, but your finals performance was very solid. I really enjoyed the opener! And it was GREAT to meet some kids from Horizon later in the night round and to only compete one time this year at FAME and make finals was quite the accomplishment! Good job.

Huntington North- Day round I will be honest... i was bored. The whole show was solid, great vocals and solid choreography. one problem I had was it was a lot of standing in place and dancing, but everything was so solid! You have a new fan in me

Kennedy- I was expecting big things from you and I just did not get that feeling I was hoping for. Vocals were way down for me and then you had some solid choreography. I was just wanting that... in your face i normally get for you.

Hastings- I have always had a place for you in my heart since I saw you in 04. And I think Stephen gave you guys some great stuff! The second song, ballad and closer were my favorites of the show. Opener was a bit "blah" for me. But I was very happy with what i saw! Great job on an awesome season and I hope to get to see you next year!!

Lawrence Central- I don't think i have ever seen a group flip it "on" from day rounds to finals as I saw you guys. Day round I had you low, I just felt i was a very blah show. But your finals performance had me STUNNED. The vocals were just superb. Great choreography and some fun blocking. Fully deserved your placement in finals.

Totino- I can go on and on and on about your show choir. You are my all time favorite show choir, year in and out you just do it for me. Your finals performance... just wow. I went to sit up in front because I am a huge fan and to see the emotion from every one of you kids was just amazing to see. I LOVE attitude dance. Just love it. Everything about your show flows so well. The opening parts of the show. GAH. I just LOVE it. The ballad brought everyone to their feet. Thank you thank you thank you!

And if anyone cared my thoughts on day round were this:
Totino
Hastings
Huntington North
East
Kennedy
Lawrence Central

and finals I predicted exactly how it went.
VERY fun trip. loved meeting so many people from Huntington North (parents and students) and meeting a few SCC people and hanging out with some awesome people!

FAME CHICAGO WAS AMAZING! I'm the only freshman in my group and I enjoyed it soooo much! I really love our vocals, but i learned to love other sounding choirs like HN and TG...overall I had a great time... Show Choir people are sooo friendly at competitions And I really do think that LC performed the crap outta the finals...I think that's why we went from 4th to 2nd...anyway...everyone was great! LOVE THE POLICE LIGHTS IN ONE GROUP! I forgot their names though...was it Hastings? or Kennedy? or Happiness INC? idk

It was Hastings!!

I gave myself a day to gather my thoughts about this competition so here goes:

Jackson Prep: I LOVED your choreography. It really flowed and was clean and fun to watch. I also really liked the ending red dresses and your set.

Sioux City East: I think you may have had the best blocking of the day. The choreo looked great with the added risers. Your vocals, IMO are the reason you didn't make finals. It was really early, and the vocals just didn't have the oomph the other groups had.

Horizon: I didn't get to see your day show, but in finals I really liked you. Your choreography was VERY clean in the entire show. The closer was very fun, although I wasn't a huge fan of the choreo in the closer. You were a fun surprise and congrats on making finals! I'm really glad I got to experience your show. The only negative comment I have about the show is that y'all were so pale!!! HAHAHAHA you are from AZ and I think you were about as pasty as me Not a bad thing I just had a good laugh about it.

HUNTINGTON NORTH!!!!!!!!!! You guys shocked me in day round. You come out with this EXCELLENT opener. It was so clean and the lifts were lovely. The vocal sound just blew me away. The banjo song was so creative, and the ladies flexibility and maturity was great. Gold.... was breathtaking. Your soft was SO soft. And I could hear every note and every word. The blend was outstanding. When the ladies came out in the closer, the entire audience GASPED. I believe your show was the most entrancing for the audience. There was not another show like yours on that stage Saturday. Your set was perfectly executed and it really ADDED to the show, instead of just being another thing onstage. I really really enjoy the sound your band makes. It NEVER EVER overpowers the choir, but is never a weakpoint in the show either. It is just blended perfectly, with your already perfectly blended vocals. Your show just proved to me why I love you so so much. It is just everything I want from a show choir show... Class, maturity, variety, cleanliness, excellent vocals, a beautiful and elegant look, and a GREAT band. I know this has been a rough season for you with your school district and all the funding issues. (If you didn't know HN's competition was cut this year, and they had no money to hire the choreographer, so their entire show is reused- BUT STILL EXCELLENT) Everything was just superb. I really really really respect you guys and I'm glad there were so many "western Midwest" people that got to see your show because we never get to. I talked to some parents about this, but your choreographer judged at an Iowa competition this year (Great River in Davenport, IA) and I REALLY think you guys need to come there next year. Your sound would just be PERFECT in that auditorium. AND I need to see you live again ASAP! I just whole-heartedly love everything about you. Keep doing what you do so well, and next year everything will be so much more smooth in your hearts without the stupid money drama. You people made me and my friend Spencer fall in love with you- and I'm SO SO glad I came to this competition to see you I hope you enjoyed us coming down and cheering for you in finals.

Kennedy- Great show as always.

Hastings- WOW. I was really surprised with this show. The closer was FANTASTIC!!! I didn't think the vocals were that good until the last part of the ballad, but after that they were super. The choreography throughout the show is very well thought out and executed great. I had you guys as 2nd best choreo. I just can't get over the band in the closer. VERY VERY VERY great! Very glad I got to experience your show live this year. It was so much fun.

Lawrence Central- You guys shocked the hell outta me. The vocals were SO strong and powerful. And the show didn't bore me to death like it did at Fairfield. The choreo looked so much more crisp here and it really flowed. You guys perform the crap out of your show. I still don't love the whole design, but the vocals really pushed you ahead of this tight pack. Great great show!

TOTINO- I came to this competition to see Protege, Huntington North, and YOU. You did not disappoint one bit. I think your show has this HUGE magnitude about it and you really need to see it twice in order to fully grasp the amazing-ness of the show. This was my 3rd and 4th times seeing you, so I was blown away. Each time I saw it the show got better and better. You are just EPIC. Every part of your show is just fantastic. The choreo isn't always 100% clean, but it is so difficult (great job April) and you performed the crap out of it. Faces were excellent. I've talked and talked about your show and how amazing it is. It was sooo good in finals. Some friends and I came down front and cheered for y'all and that was just an unforgettable experience. I loved every second of your finals show. I just can't get over you. Flippin UNBELIEVABLE!

This competition was the best. Every group performed so well ALL day long. HN and Totino.... you just make my heart soar and I will never forget the love I felt for your shows on Saturday. Thank you so so much for what you added to my life.

Thank you to the hosts of FAME: Chicago, and all the awesome people who came to watch, for making the experience awesome and unforgettable.

I am also very grateful to the many TG alum who came out to support us. It was awesome to see all of you.

See you next year, show choir season ;).

I thought the host group was pretty good, but I was confused about having the singers on mics with the band. it was ... different. and it was difficult to hear the choir as a whole.

I thought Butler had a very entertaining performance....much better that some 4-year college groups we've seen.
Whatever happened in the medical emergency? We were told there was a possible cardiac problem with one of the Butler performers just before they went on.
