Buffalo Grove and Mt. Zion were mentioned earlier as attending groups but are not listed above on the Event schedule? Anyone know what's up?

That's understandable, given how many large budget productions have taken off in the past few years. They have to make their money back somehow.

Thanks, Martin!

I know one time FAME had it at the Arie Crown Theater - which is in the McCormick Place convention center, just south of downtown - not far from Soldier Field. And I know Showstoppers had one in one of the Broadway in Chicago theaters in the loop proper, but I'm pretty certain most of those spaces are booked solid with touring productions etc. that they wouldn't even be free for a single weekend event like this anymore.

Showstoppers Chicago 2004 was held at The Oriental Theatre.

Out of curiousity, where was the contest held when it was in the city proper?

Yes, at the Genesee Theatre.

It's a nice space. Kind of in the middle of nowhere (be warned - closer to Wisconsin than Chicago) - but still, a nice space. Hopefully they'll have the balcony opened for spectators again - it works much better for those not associated with any one choir, and I bet there will be a fair number of those types with this particular line up.

I absolutely cannot wait to see this one!

The groups I'm most excited about are: Totino, Huntington North, Lawrence Central, Kennedy, SC East, and Hastings. Should be a really close one!

We have had it on our schedule all year. It was not a recent addition and has nothing to do with not being able to attend Onalaska. Just wanted to clear that up.

Sioux City East has been confirmed for awhile... I actually believe Hastings was one of the last groups to add FAME Chicago lol.
