I have only seen 2 of the groups and then my own group so I will voice what I think about them ha ..
Opelika- I think that you guys had a beautiful ballad.. Jasmine rocks that ballad... Really pretty costumes.. In my opinion you guys vocals are way better than petals.. not trying to dis anyone just my opinion.. while I was at homewood watching you guys I sure that you guys were going to beat south and be in the fourth spot in finals and then I thought south would have gotten the fifth spot.. I remember some select few parts in the show when the choreo was not clean but besides that I think you guys are good..
Petal- I feel like this year is just not you guys year.. Compared to last year your vocals are not good at all.. Your show just doesn't flow and I really do not like the costume choices.. (Although I do like Mrs.Gaga's black and gold costumes .. I felt as though your choreo and vocals were got stronger in the closer.. IMO I think that Opelika will make finals over you guys, this is just my opinion please do not take it offensive it was not meant to be..

the only reason I put West is because we beat south and south beat both Opelika and Petal and yes I am a little bias ha

So I have only seen one group out of this bunch... But I am going off of what I know and past results... I will say
I just feel Mitchell has this good with only having 1 no GC and they lost to Totino.
Mitchell has great choreo and good vocals... and has an amazing closer!!! I cant wait to see them again!!

I am an Opelika alum, but wanted to give yall information on the south. Petal competed against Opelika twice and West Jones once. Petal got second at the competition and West got 4th. At Albertville, Opelika won Grand Champion and best choreography and Petal won best vocals and got 3rd runner up. At Homewood, neither Opelika or Petal made finals, but Opelika was in 6th and Petal in 7th. Both kind of held back in prelims and it cost them. All three have good shows, but would say if the judges are more vocal centered that Petal has a good shot, but if its more of a solid mix or lean towards choreography then Opelika will probably sneak in. Both groups have incredible potential...its just reaching it that will be interesting.
In Pre-Lims at South yes petal did get second but three judges had west in second with best choreo and best show design how the final outcome came upon us I do not know but I do think that we have a chance of sneaking in there We beat South at Petal and South beat Opelika at Homewood.. so ;) take your pick... I think our show is more entertaining than anything though

Ok I see how it works, that's pretty neat. Man Haakon or some of his help are working overtime to keep up with all that info. I sure they are getting rewarded for it somehow.
CS24AX I knew the info was probablly out there but wasn't going to go thru all the
pages of midwest info to dig it out. The thing is they are only taking four groups in the finals. My guess is the fourth spot is wide open. I haven't seen Opelika this year so I can't voice an opinion, and it's been several weeks since I saw Petal's show, so it's probablly much better than earlier in the year by now. It's like we have been talking about on one of the South Forum strings, depends on what this group of judges is looking for at Fame Orlando.

Center Grove has won Churubusco, Danville, Norwell, and Lawrence Central.
This is going to be a fantastic competition! (Of course I say that for pretty much every competition, but that doesn't mean it's not true... )

1RU: Bishop Luers
2RU: Center Grove
3RU: Opelika
4RU: Petal
5RU: West Jones
Center Grove will probably actually place higher, I'm just not a fan of their ridiculous prop-age. The last 3 could go in any order, as it seems Petal and Opelika are struggling a little bit this year... any updates from the South on either group?

Two weeks before FAME Orlando and already 10 Grand Championships and a bunch of top placements from the groups at this competition, and probably more by the time they all get there. What a great show this should be!
