Kenton is no longer attending Ada. Not sure whether performance times are impacted or if lunch is just longer now. Also not sure whether Vermilion is the lone Class B choir or if divisions have been adjusted now. Anyone know?

Also fun football updates: Wapak and Ada made playoffs, Piqua did not. Both will be hosting their first round playoff game. So Ada will be both hosting a show choir competition and a football game. Their stadium, though, isn't at their high school so that should make things slightly less chaotic.

I'm assuming it has to do with football playoffs - that'd be my guess. Probably only Chad or Ethan would appreciate this post, but Ohio does Division III, V, and VII football playoffs games on Saturdays at 7 pm. As luck would have it, a couple of the schools attending happen to have decent football teams that are either D3, D5, or D7.

Wapak and Piqua are both in D3. Wapak is 7-0, Piqua 5-2. Ada is D7 and currently 5-2. There's still 3 weeks left in the high school football regular season and all 3 of these schools have challenging remaining schedules, but both Wapak and Ada have a good likelihood of making it to the playoffs and Piqua would have to probably win out or win 2 of their remaining 3 games to qualify. Depending how the next couple weeks go on the gridiron, Saturday November 5th would be the first round of the playoffs.

So my guess would be Ada performing in exhibition before Findlay could be in preparation so some of those kids could still have their host performance and then leave in time to attend a potential playoff game. And, you know, if it in fact has nothing to do with football… then oh well. I just like football and show choir. Also shoutout to Findlay and Olentangy Orange who are both having good football seasons and will likely make playoffs, but it doesn’t impact them as D1 playoffs are Friday nights.

I do greatly appreciate the shout out, Jeff! I didn't even begin to think that this would be an issue here, but you're spot on.

As of Friday night, Piqua is now 6-2. A win in one of the next two weeks most likely puts them in the playoffs. So we shall see. Beyond that, this looks to be a nice kickoff (pun intended) to the show choir season.

I knew the D1 playoffs were the Friday, but didn't realize that about D3, D5, and D7 though. That would make a lot of sense, even though a 5:15pm performance time would mean cutting it close to get to a 7:00 kick depending on where the game is. My high school had an awful football team my 4 years so that was one thing we never had to worry about haha.
