Sadly, LeMars Community 'Crimson and Black' has had to scratch Westwood from their competition schedule due to conflicts involving state speech contest. Nearly half of our group is involved with state speech, which is located just too far from westwood for us to be able to transport them back and forth. I'm actually really depressed about this.

Good luck to everyone

You're all acting like having Iowa judges is a bad thing ;)

That's the great thing about "Great River". None of the judges are Iowans.

Haha anytime. Hopefully ATSC will be able to experience the non-Iowa judging panel there soon.

I think Bloomington Kennedy's results will really depend heavily on judges. If the panel is heavy on Iowa, which Iowan panels tend to be, I could see their vocal style hurting them.

I do think it's great they're heading out of our area to compete- one thing I'm loving about Minnesota lately is that everyone is venturing out more- it's brave, even if other areas aren't that welcoming lol.

Looking back at the Judges that I posted earlier, I don't think there should be an Iowa bias here at all. I think the panel is pretty balanced and I think the best overall group will come out on top, no favoritism to vocals or choreography. Another interesting things that could play into it is if finals are points or just rankings.

Lewis Central:
Gretna: 7th place
Omaha Westside: 5th Runner-Up
Lincoln Southwest: 3rd Runner-Up
Grand Island: 1st Runner-Up, Best Choreography

That's all I know from them too. This is my favorite show of the year. I wish I could come here and see them! Their vocals aren't terribly strong. Their choreography is GREAT!!!! and their band is also really good!!!! They perform their show really well.

Thanks Julio. We are having an amazing year this year and really excited to go to Westwood. After last night I think we are all pumped because we had an awesome day yesterday at Grand Island. Good luck to everyone at Westwood.

Papillion:
Gretna: 3rd Runner-Up
Omaha Westside: 4th Runner-Up
Lincoln Southwest: 7th place
Urbandale: 7th place
that's all I know of them... sorry. Their vocals aren't strong but they aren't weak. Neither is their choreography. They have a good show design. The choreography is really messy at times.

Lewis Central:
Gretna: 7th place
Omaha Westside: 5th Runner-Up
Lincoln Southwest: 3rd Runner-Up
Grand Island: 1st Runner-Up, Best Choreography

does anyone know how bloomington kennedy's, papillion's or lewis central's season has gone so far this year?

I would definitely say Lewis Central is becoming a strong show choir. I got to watch their show live at Grand Island for my first time this year last night and was quite impressed. They finished 1st runner-up and took best choreography, beating out Grand Island Northwest among others in finals. Other than that they finished either 5th or 6th at the competition we host.
Papillion was the other of the 5th or 6th at our competition, but has failed to make finals at their last two competitions. However at their last competition they were up against some very tough opponents, and they definitley are improving from earlier in the season.

I think that this will be an Xavier Sweep, condidering how well they have done already this season... grand champs at mt. pleasant and 1ru at benton touch of class so i think Xhilaration is the favorite to win.

Go Xhiaration
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!
THIS WILL BE VERY INTERESTING
