Can someone post all the schools that are attending the rescheduled date of April 12th? And also post the pending schools that are still deciding on it if you know. Thanks!

Good Luck to all groups!

so im a senior this year, in ESPRIT and i want this year to be our best!!!!! we have 2 days to have A TON of groups.... so that means we need more groups. When people say we give the best trophies, they are not kidding, we have 2 huge tables full of them! and there is so much to do there. i know we have it to where you can watch the groups perform from tv's all over the school, as well as in the gym !!!!! food wise.... amazing! haha and on top of GREAT food, we have dippin dots( a personal favorite) lol. I as far as entertainment, i am thinking we have the photography, and i think there are rumors of a singing bee, and guitar hero contest, im not sure. but im pretty positive they are both in the works! there is so much to do here, lol and if all else fails, lol find me, haha i always have fun! so if your coming great! if not.... TALK TO YOUR DIRECTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS COMPETITION IS ONE OF THE BEST, IF NOT THE BEST ( and yes it is my contest, but i have been to plenty of contests in my 6 years of show choir, and this is my favorite, lol i would love to attend ours!) so deffinately talk to your directors, there are plenty of trophies, good food, and great times awaiting you !!!!

Glad to see most of the original groups scheduled are able to attend the new date April 12th. Hopefully even more groups will jump on into the mix!!! I'm not ready for the 2008 season to be over. And what better chance to keep it going than one more contest in early April. I mean after all, with all the blood sweat & tears put into a show, why not come out for one last 'go' at it

Well said Carter Alan. You crack me up! Way to support the OVS!!! We appreciate your kind words. As a matter of fact St. Albans from West Virginia and also two groups from Bellmont HS in Indiana may be joining us on April 12th. I sure hope more can attend! The OVS is a great competition and they always give away the best trophies!

Everyone needs to go back to school tomorrow and talk to their directors about coming to Southwestern on April 12th. It turns out that the competition may be even bigger/better on the new date. Since I put the post on here Friday, I have gotten three calls from new directors/schools wanting to attend. We are considering having the JH groups back on Friday, April 11th with the HS groups/finals on Saturday, April 12th. Have your director call Rick Reckner at 1-812-866-1112. There may have been other competitions cancelled this past weekend due to the snow storm.

These groups have said they would return on the new date.

JH groups: Greendale, South Dearborn, Northwood and Edgewood. Oak Hill was a maybe but would have to check.

Varsity: Austin, Martinsville, Triton Central. Whiteland and South Dearborn were a "probably" but would have to check calendars.

Women's : Dekalb and Princeton. Monrovia is unavailable due to a cruise they are attending.

Championship: Dekalb, St. Albans (new). East is starting spring break but may still come, (I hope the students decide to attend, we love EAST!!!) Teays Valley and Winfield are checking but are probable returns. Plainfield will be attending FAME Branson that weekend.

LET'S NOT LET THE WEATHER GET US DOWN. HELP US TO MAKE THE 2008 OVS EVEN BIGGER AND BETTER! Hopefully April 11th and 12th will be a better date! PRAY FOR NO SNOW!!!! LOL

What a disappointment... I was so looking forward to this weekend But I'm so glad that they are still planning on hosting their contest at a later date. It will be well worth the wait. Southwestern's contest is one of the best! They have a fantastic facility for hosting an event of this size. The school couldn't have been built/laid-out better for a show choir contest. Not to mention the organization & attention to detail is first rate!

Don't worry Southwestern... I'll definitely be clearing April 12th and making the drive down south once again this year to enjoy the day.
