I love Ben Davis.
Actually, everyone in Singers and Starliters loves Ben Davis.

I am not even from any of those choirs...so i am not a sore loser. i was just giving my opinion. if i remember correctly...that is allowed on here. and i never smashed anyone's show either. so great job to everyone. but i still stand by my opinion. as do many

If this is true, it is yet another example of why judge's points should always be turned into rankings, and then the winner tabulated. One rogue judge should not be allowed to nullify the rest of the panel.

Actual finals Scores

Group Vocal Judge 1 Vocal Judge 2 Choreo Judge 1 Choreo Judge 2 Total (After Weighting)
Highland 164 (1) 148 146 (1) 122 147.2
Ben Davis 163 140 132 124(1) 142.1
LC 135 175(1) 118. 112 139
Carmel 134 173 145 123 145.7

I am not sure where some of you get you information from but you should do better checking before slamming other groups! It looks to me like each judge had their own idea of who should win... " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Great performances by all of these groups - I was honored to be in competition with you!!!

the judges need more education before they ruin peoples legacy. really now.

All great things must come to an end ;) A good reputation only gets you so far.

I do. Though their show was VERY clean and their vocals were pretty good, I as well as my friends thought that if Highland didn't win, Ben Davis would. Idk if that was just bias because we've been friends with BD since we went there a few weeks ago or if it's actually sound logical thought.

However, I did think that Lafayette Jeff and Lawrence Central also did an outstanding job. I just don't understand what was up with Carmel winning by so much (some of the point spreads were atleast 20 or more).

This school was such a great atmosphere. It was so relaxed.

HOWEVER...Carmel Accents?? It may have not been their best performance...but honestly. to be blunt-it was SOOOOO wrong. they have never been defeated before and they got defeated by highland? I am sorry but it should've been in this order.

GC: Carmel Accents
1RU: Ben Davis
2RU: LC
3RU: Highland

P.S. I heard Accents were in first place with 3 judges and 4th with one...so they lost by a point & a half. something is wrong with that don't you think?? This whole competition season has been off....the judges need more education before they ruin peoples legacy. really now.

WOW WHAT A CONTEST>>>

I thought that all of the mixed groups were great. I do not know how the judges decided 4-7 place they were all very close. I have been to several contest this year and I have to say this was one of the funnest shows that I have been too - great job HN for running a great contest. (of course I am a llittle biased Go VIKES)

I was disappointed with the concert choir results - something weird there... both groups were very good - but I thought it was very clear that Ben Davis was the winner... but it was hard to hear both of the choirs in that venue (why not the library anymore?) - but tunning was a major issue for Laff. Jeff - but they were a lot of fun

Women's -

Carmel... all I have to say is WHAT???? 2nd really?? " border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Highland - wow have you improved great show - great show - although I had you tied with Ben Davis...

Ben Davis - where did you come from??? OMG - fantastic! Such a great sound for so few - if you can improve the choreo - state could get interesting!!

Lawrence Central - I missed your show (have to go at some point)... blushing.gif

Mixed:
This was such a close contest - I believe the top four could have gone anyway...

I had...
Carmel winning visuals
Lawrence winning band (of course)
Ben Davis winning vocals (this should not have been as close)
Highland winning best overall show concept (do they still do this at HN?)

All of these groups are great and will just keep getting and better with time! Thanks for making this such a fun comp. to attend - to the contest host and the schools attending!!!

I was really surprised Jeff came in 5th. I was also surprised Highland came in 4th. It did not turn out the way I expected. I was really surprised Carmel won. Their show was very safe. They did their show well, but it was very typical show choir. I thought BD was excellent and hit right about where they should have. LC was pretty good, but their show just seemed to lack a little oomph that they've had in Previous years. Back to Jeff, while they haven't been as good as they were in the first part of the decade hydraulics, fog, crazy outfits and all, they put on one of the best shows I've seen all season. Woody did an excellent job here.
