Any day or evening scores?

Great competition! This is one of my favorite competitions to go to because of the high calibur of show choirs that attend every year, great support for the arts, parents (especially Troy's for running the many stations in order to make the competition work) that are amazing and basically bend over backwards the entire day, great variety of clinicians/judges, pretty close to running on time/ran well, and great hosts. I'm an alum and have competed there myself, but have also been a spectator for a couple of years now, and every year it's great!

Congrats to everyone! I enjoyed the entire day, and the groups were amazingly close in finals.

Mt. Zion- Great job, and way to step it up in finals. Loved the ballad. The "What's Your Name" medley was cute, way to do some musical theatre and be able to improvise.

Nevada- Great job, and I am very proud of you guys. Way to step it up and bring your A game. Love the show and the theme. I still have "Mr. Pinstripe Suite" stuck in my head. Keep up the good/hard work, and you guys will do great things this year.

Davenport North- I first off just want to say that I love the song "Heart and Music", and you guys did an awesome version of it! P.S.~I LOVE THE SOLOIST FOR THAT SONG!!! Great vocals throughout the entire show, and I understood you the entire show.

Edgewood- This is one of my favorite shows that you guys have done! I would love to do your show, it looks like so much fun! You guys had such great energy too, everyone was dancin' or tappin' their foot at least! Loved the April and Marty choreography. You guys had as much energy at the beginning of your show as you did with the end, so great job with that to keep the show very consistent. Your show did not fall and did not have a boring part at all, I was always wondering what was going to happen next.

Des Moines Roosevelt- OMG, you have no idea how happy I was to see you guys do "Soul With A Capitol S" 'cuz I haven't heard that song since 2005, and I absolutely love it! You're the 2nd choir that I've seen do that number, and you guys rocked it! And I told EVERYONE this, not even kidding, your group was the only group I've EVER seen PULL OFF Proud Mary. You seriously rocked it out, and had the Tina Turner style and did not show choir it up (vocally, diction, or choreography wise). Way to go! The soloist in Proud Mary...oh girl, you should be Tina....LoL! You did your thang! I was sitting near the judges booth and when you were singing all the judges go..."YEA!! SING IT GIRL!" You did your thang girl!

Rock Bridge- So I love you guys! You have such great vocals, and have improved so much over the years. It amazes me that there are 26 of you, and I could hear/understand every note and word. Loved the show, great energy! The closer is my favorite though, just because I love that medley of songs. I am also in LOVE with your costumes, both of them. Great! The dresses are simple but very classy/elegant and look good on all the girls, and the closing outfits are so festive looking. Loved the adding of the hair bands, way to pay attention to little details.

Good luck to all of the groups, and have a great rest of the season!

Yah, Thanks for letting the mics go out during our ballad during the day!

J/K J/K

The music played between shows was awesome.

Me and my friend kept sang to "Livin' On A Prayer" before Edgewood during finals.

I wasn't on the sound board i was doing alot with the mics like making sure they batteries changed every hour, so that wasn't me! sorry that happened though.

I did SEE the show. But do YOU remember EVERY song you see in EVERY show choir? The answer is no. And yes... I am too young to remember. Thank god!

No, I personally don't remember every song, but as much as you post about every show choir and every competition in detail, I just figured you had some sort of "Rainman" memory. Are you too young to remember that also? You just seem older because you are filled with so much wisdom....

What I think...

Wow, Troy is always soo fun. Everyone in my group loved the no guns sign on the doors. The decorations were coool.

1 thing i'd recommend is moving the picture place somewhere else lol.. there was so much traffic.

Wow are host. ..(his name was Abercrombie) is the coolest dude ever. He was super nice to everyone and gave us all high five's after we got announced as 2ru in finals.

this competition was awesome.

Groups I saw...

Nevada-Congrats! Your 1st, 4th and 5th songs were entertaining but the rest just didn't do anything for me. Choreo in the closer was fun to watch.

Edgewood-Good Job! Your songs were for the most part really entertaining. Choreography in the Back in Time song was pretty original. and the final countdown was pretty much stuck in my head for the rest of the night. i really wanted to catch one of the streamers.
Final Thoughts...

Thank Troy for making us feel at home and loved in Missouri. I think we'll come back year after year.

P.S.

Dear Troy Wal-Mart,

I am deeply sorry if our 12am rush of students caused your store any harm, or discomfort in any way shape or form.

Sincerely,
Davenport North

I was going to say. I thought that I was told by more than three people that Edgewood got 4th. Anyone know the point spread or reviews on the shows yet?

From what i've heard, Mt. Zion had an awesome finals performance and the only thing that the judges agreed on was that they were #1.

Congrats to everyone

4RU: Des Moines Roosevelt
5RU: Rock Bridge

If you SAW the show, how did you not know it was a song in their closer? It's a Poison song from the 80's in case you're too young to remember.

Thanks for "connecting the dots". I didn't know it was a song in the show. The Mike Huckabee comment was a joke... referencing to how back woods Missouri is.
