I personally thought Holmen's "Midwest Express" was great last night!

Thanks Rob!!
The sad thing is, we have only practiced 2 times since New London when you saw us last!
I wish we could compete at your competition this year, but solo ensemble comes first I guess.
I will for sure be in attendence for finals though, I can't wait!

This is what I had for the night-time. Keep in mind I did not see any daytime shows at all.

GC: Sauk Prairie
1RU: Eau Claire
2RU: Logan
3RU: New London
4RU: De Pere
5RU: Tomah

BV, BC, BB: Sauk Prairie

I wasn't ENTIRELY surprised to see Eau Claire win, but I was a little taken aback by them winning best vocals. I thought Sauk Prairie had a great sound.

Sauk: Great sound, like I said, clear, healthy, resonant, not too much more that you can ask for. The choreography wasn't the hardest of the night, but it was stylistically appropriate and was very very clean.

Eau Claire: Good improvement since Monona Grove. It seemed like the band over played you a lot, but they weren't playing loud, at all. You're choreography has gotten much more original, I just want to see your shows get that way!! Good show, impressive vocals, impressive soloists for the most part! Congrats on the GC, I was not surprised to see you win.

Logan: The show just keeps getting better. The vocals are soothing, but could be a little more polished. You sing well, there are times when single voices stick out and are usually a little sharp, so just watch that. There are some out of tune moments in the show, but I would say 99% of the time the show is dead on. It's the best I've seen you since my high school days (2002-2006) so congrats on getting so much better. I've been to all your competitions to try to support you guys, and you've done really really well!

New London: I like how the tone of this group has changed over the season. Earlier in the season it wasn't well supported and was very shouty. It's starting to get better, and the show overall is better. Probably the biggest thing to me is your choreography. It's not very entertaining, it's done well, and it's very clean, but it just doesn't feel like much substance. Congrats on a good showing here!

De Pere: Well, like I said last year, I was impressed. You guys keep getting better and hopping back on the show choir scene. Rob has given you some great things, and you've done well with them. There are some things that could use some cleaning, though. I also felt as though the drums were a tad loud at night and made it kind of awkward when the drummer had hits. Overall great improvement from last year, keep it up.

Tomah: You guys get the award for most improved throughout the season. WOW! Congrats on getting through what was kind of a rough season for you guys! I was impressed!

Wow. This was a great competiton. Probably one of best competitions I've ever attended. Food was fantastic, our hosts were great, and the competiton was absolutely nuts.

Just some things about prelim breakdowns:

1 Sauk
2 EC (-18)
3 Logan (-28)
4 DePere
5 New London
6 Tomah

We didn't recieve any finals breakdowns but if I do, I'll put it up.

I only saw one group so:

SAUK PRAIRIE: Woah. Your opener was pretty great. Wonderful stage presence each and every one of you. The last chord of the opener was very blended and cool. "Big Spender" was great too. Kick lines were clean and near perfect. GREAT JOB.

GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE. If anyone saw OASC in finals, comments would be greatly appreciated. We have one more competition this year and would love to hear what people thought of finals.

Also--did any video company tape finals? I'd love a DVD or something.
