Lights is Mundelein's girls group. We were so excited to make finals! It was a fierce competition.

It was a great day. Thanks to everyone!

That sucks Brodhead. I also think these little nit-picky point deductions are sort of pointless. This weekend at Holmen, there was an elevated stage in a gym and 4 steps on each side. There was a backstage crew that gave away 5pt deductions for each step a performer skipped walking up. Last year, Monona Grove performers skipped a few steps and lost something like 25 points and didn't make finals.

we got penalized 10 points...so we actually made finals but w/ the deduction we didnt make it....

Hey just as a response to that penalty brodhead got, I'm not totally sure you made finals without the penalty because we, Prospect, also got penalized 10 or more points because we went over the time limit by a minute and a half. So i wouldn't assume that you made finals without the penalty. But besides that, congrats to everyone. The competition was so much fun! Especially that t-shirt toss! " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Word on the street is... a penalty kept Brodhead out of finals.

well u heard right...we got penalized 4 having water on the stage cuz of our fog machine...and our crew members 4got the towels to clean them up.... so me and another kid took our shirts off and tried 2 get it but we didnt get it all

we got penalized 10 points...so we actually made finals but w/ the deduction we didnt make it....

Brodhead has a homemade fog machine with hot water in it and then they lower dry ice into the water before the show to create the fog and somehow some water got on the stage during the show, back by the band and the group didn't have enough time to clean it all up because they would've been over the time limit had they stayed on to clean it all up.

However, they did try to get it all cleaned up.

penelties like this are dumb, in my opinion...

Ah. Anyone else?

Tim Heck, Jeff Gemar, Paul Gulsvig, Tony Gibson, Mark Anthony Lord, Dennis Mulder (bands), Nick Falco (oustanding performer), Jennifer Mather (solos), Cheryl Coons (solos)

I could only make the afternoon of prelims, and had to leave right after Wheaton Warrenville (so I missed Troy and Ft. Atkinson).

WW was just as amazing as I remembered them being at Onalaska. Great singing, great diction - great matching of vowels, so it wasn't that I understood every word - I actually understood every PART of every word, and that's something I can't say about many other groups I've seen this year, or any recent year for that matter.

The only person I know judging this competition is Paul Gulsvig, I had heard that Jeff Gemar is also judging, but I can't remember.

Ah. Anyone else?

I dont think thats true because Fort got 6th.. and we would have been next in line to go in finals

If the points taken off were enough you add them to Brodhead's score, they would jump to be infront of you and then also in that finals spot.

Yeah word on the street is kind of correct, Brodhead did receive a penalty for water on the stage....however I do not know if that kept them out of finals, the director just said it "would've made a difference" Congratulations to all the groups today, it was fun watching everyone and WW.....wow, i was so excited to see you guys live in stead of just on youtube, and i absolutely loved the whole show, I was in the 3rd row and it was just amazing!!
