Cory-Rawson:

-Big Time
-When I get my name in lights
-Listen
-On Broadway
-She loves to hear the music
-Let me Entertain you

There are some rough videos on youtube of our show that I uploaded...it's on there twice actually...the more recent one is from a dress rehersal last week and the other one is from our Findlay performance last month, which was not a competition but more like an exhibition...a chance for some of the local groups to put on their show in front of an audience without being judged. You can see the kids better in the Findlay video and the sound is really good, but I was in the 2nd row so I was way too close to get the whole group in at once. dry.gif

some breakdowns of shows. Grove City was the first group i watched at Central Crossing, so their show is too fuzzy for me to remember, but i tried to recollect a much as i could about other finalist groups.

Teays Valley:
-Two Worlds, One Family/Strangers Like Me
-Jazz Number (The diction was less than desirable - I never could pick out a possible title from the lyrics)
-(Song I Didn't Recognize)/Children Will Listen
-Venus Medley (Guys' and Girls' Number. Women sing same song as Clinton 2006)
-Renegade
*a note about the closer, it is quite the experience. once the show has better flow and the technical transitions are ironed out, i look forward to other's reactions to Renegade.

Kettering Fairmont:
-Sway
-Steam Heat
-I'm Proud to Be an American
-(Guys' Number)
-Miss America Novelty
-(Don't remember closer. Something patriotic)

Poca:
i really don't know any of the song titles with the exception of the closer, "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven." Poca's show is very unique and something i would encourage anyone who is a fan of themed shows to watch. details i would watch out for are the backlit dancers in the opener and the ballad soloist.

i was able to see all of the finalists except for Cory Rawson and Grove City Women during daytime competition. it's November, so a lot of improvements need to be made for regular competition season, but some groups gave a rather interesting showing. Poca, in particular, was the biggest surprise to me. i've watched their themed shows before, but this season brings the most conceptual set i've seen from them yet. also, Teays' closer is quite the experience. once the setup time is reduced i think it will be very impressive.

Great competition yesterday @ CC!

I can't say enough about how awesome it was for Lil Ol' Cory-Rawson to do so amazingly well! With a student body of only 250 kids for the whole high school, to have such a talented group of singer/dancers and band is SO impressive!

Teays Valley had a really cool show, especially the first number and the closer!

Congrats to everyone who competed yesterday, you're all winners in my book! ;)
