my thoughts have changed after thsi weekend...

GC: Fairfield
1st RU: Huntington North
2nd RU: Highland
3rd RU: Lafayette Jeff
4th RU: Norwell
5th RU: Zionsville

As many pointed out, HN and LJ pull out some amazing show as the year progresses, I agree. But I firmly believe that Fairfield is the better choir. Dont get me wrong, HN is absolutely AMAZING and i think they aer one of the best choirs in the nation, however i think fairfield will still win. If LJ wins this competition...lets face it...its cause of their name...LJ has slowly been going downhill since Eric Van CLeave left...sure they ahve had some crazy special effects and what not...but thats LJ's trademark...and those special effects really make you forget how unimpressive the vocals were.

After seeing all the groups that I have put into finals, i firmly believe that highland should be LJ...I mean, highland is AWESOME and it had to have been extremely close between them and homestead this weekend at HN. Norwell is great...they already beat ZIonsville once this year at a tough Fairfield competition and I think ppl underestimante them.

but those are just my thoughts......

I never do these predictions, but it's late enough in the season to justify it.

1st: Fairfield
2nd: Lafayette-Jefferson
3rd: Huntington North
4th: Zionsville
5th: Highland
6th: Norwell

I think this could be pretty accurate. I'm sure it will change once I see all the finalists perform.

I'll have to disagree with show choirnerd88 about Huntington North. I think Lafayette Jefferson has, historically, pulled off some pretty big upsets as the year progresses. I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they were able to pull off first place at Homestead.

I have to agree with this post and also Scott's post. Huntington North can be somewhat inconsistent, but I love them and wow can they sing!!!! Also in the past 3 years Lafayette Jefferson has tended to improve DRAMATICALLY as the year progressed

Just want to wish both Norwell groups the best of luck this weekend. I'm very proud of you students and Mrs Doles in how well you have competed this year. I havent had the chance to see you since your Invitational but I have heard that you have come miles since then. Congrats on the amazing contest season you are having. Hard work pays off. Good Luck!!!

What up everybody? Uhh just asking a random yet much needed question about Homestead Comp... Is there any rules about dance parties or music in the homerooms? Because I as a show choirian beleive that dance parties bring the whole competition together anyone know? And if we can have a dance party whose in?>

Although none of our choir students have been given a schedule or anything to give anyone, I dont think there has ever been a problem with music in the homerooms, a lot of choirs were going crazy last year! If I hear anything i'll be sure to post it here though =)

After some results from this weekend, and my faith in old school Lafayette Jeff

GC: Lafayette Jefferson
1st RU: Fairfield
2nd RU: Huntington North
3rd RU: Norwell
4th RU: Highland
5th RU:Zionsville

i believe GC is up for grabs between LJ, Fairfield and HN...... then the last three spots in finals could be Norwell, Highland, Zionsville, Prospect... this could be an interesting comp

is this laff jeff's only competition or are they competing somewhere else?

I think what we have to remember is that though Huntington North is Inconsistent... Once a year atleast they put on a show to beat all shows... ATLEAST once a year... I know how placings have gone in the past, but i think HN is Due for their big show...also, Anderson Highland (thought they don't compete much) Is an EXCELLENT choir.

GC: HN
1RU: Fairfield
2RU: Anderson Highland
3RU: Laff Jeff (unless they've done a 360 since last year then maybe top3)
4RU: Norwell
5RU: Zionsville

Best Band: Fairfield
Best Vocals: HN By a bunch
Best choreo: Fairfield by a little

Norwell girls are amazing this year!! They've won against some of the best choirs in the nation! (Crete-Monee, Center Grove, etc.) .....

Alex we have not beaten Center Grove this year!! we have not been at any of the same comps nor will we be! ... it would be cool to see who would win thought!! but we have beaten Burbank Cal girls thought!! and they were AMAZING!!!!

Cant wait until this comp. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!

my thoughts:

GC: Fairfield (OH)
1st RU: Huntington North/Lafayette Jeff
2nd RU: Huntington North/Lafayette Jeff
3rd RU: Norwell
4th RU: Zionsville
5th: RU: Highland
The reason I put Norwell so high is, cause Norwell is amazing this year. After not making finals at Center Grove and going to Fairfield OH and making finals at possibly one of the hardest competitions in the Midwest, that little group deserves some recognition...they are good and if anything is right in the world they will place very well.

Fairfield OH will win this easily. It's a toss-up between LJ and HN for 2nd and 3rd cause LJ is the 2 time defending Champ...and for some reason *cough cough their name cough cough* they always win, even when they aren't the best choir there.

Girls:
GC: Norwell
1st RU: Zionsville
2nd RU: Highland

I really think that the Norwell girls are unstoppable this year. They can sing EXTREMELY WELL and I think they will pull out a win to end their competition season.

I agree with everything you said. Fairfield will most likely win this competition, but then 2nd and 3rd are up for grabs by LJ and HN.... I might switch Norwell and Zionsville, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing....everything looks right!

Norwell girls are amazing this year!! They've won against some of the best choirs in the nation! (Crete-Monee, Center Grove, etc.)
