I thought the CR Gazette said Prairie's "Ovation" won it all?

Maybe I read it wrong...

So...

Only about a half hour till I'm on the road to Jefferson.

I am looking foward to seeing everyone's show (especially Fairfield). I am also looking forward to hearing Miss Carlee (Carl) Jo Weber's solo competition performance! She's amazing!

Good luck to all groups!

Didn't stay for awards but here are some middle schools results from my informant:

GC: McKinley "Classic Edition"
1RU: Regis "Eclipse"
2RU: Taft "Kids From Taft" (? Not sure)
3RU: Prairie "Ovation"

Again good luck to all groups today!

I've never been to this competition before, but I noticed on the schedule it says top score from auditorium. I only saw one schedule though, is there another one? Or do they perform in the auditorium 1/2 the day? Or all day and just the highest score in daytime goes 1st?

That is to bad about the pizza...whatever. I am so excited to compete; we haven't competed in almost a month so I am ready to get back on that stage. I just finished packing, so I should probably go get some sleep seeing as I have to go to school tomorrow . Good luck to everyone that is competing on Saturday!

any pizza places that would deliver to the hotel?

or chinese? i sure could go for some white rice...

I'm pretty sure that you can order any kind of pizza place from the hotel in Cedar Rapids.... Just don't try that in Nashville. Since they have Pizza Hut as room service at the Opryland you can't order from outside of the hotel, so you get screwed over pricewise.

There is a Quizno's less than a block away (on First Avenue) next to the Cedar Rapids Chop House (another restaurant). Top of the Five has always been considered one of the better restaurants in Cedar Rapids, but I have never eaten there.

I do recommend the Blue Strawberry. Excellent! There is another Coffee Shop literally across the Street from the Hotel.

Our judges always stay at The Crowne Plaza. Unfortunately last year I was dropping one off and I got stuck by a train...luckily he was quite awesome and we just sat and listened to music for 45 min. I know The Blue Strawberry is downtown...AMAZING! I love it, and they usually have live music on Friday nights. I've made small habbit of going and grabbing a hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin Saturday morning during invitational. Erm, otherwise there's nothing else really downtown that I can think of other than coffee shops. But who ever said you couldn't make a meal out of espresso and pastries?

The restaurants aren't bad at all- the one on the second floor is a bit cheaper, but neither is super expensive. The upstairs one has a great breakfast buffet!!!

We really haven't run into other show choirs at hotels much the past few years... Friday will be... loud. Remember everyone, make the choice- SAVE YOUR VOICE!!! Especially by the pool.
