ANYWAY, the fact I like to look at is Huntington ran a great competition, after my third and final year I must say its favorite. Congratulations to everyone and let's focus on the remainder of the season.

i couldnt agree more. As alumni i was so proud of the students omn both sides. I knew it would be close and Anderson brought it! they were amazing. but i also think that anyone from Anderson should be extremly proud of both choirs. Both have previously won some amazing awards, and all. The remainder of the year needs to be spent within each school doing what they do best....getting better!!!!!!! cuz i know there is room for improvment on both sides good luck AHS and HHS! you rock my socks off regardless of how your director may or maynot act!!! <3

I liked all of the choirs.

Anderson was especially supportive of other groups, I observed..

They were in the front just cheering their hearts out.

Way to be good competitors.

And sore winners are the worst,
We all know that..

So let us all just try and be civil.

oh my.

we sing and dance. it is supposed to be fun. if someone displays poor sportsmanship.. ok. i shall live on, right?

all i can do is show respect for other people, and if i get none back, whoop-dee-doo! i am not there to gain respect or demand good sportsmanship. i do it cause i like singing and dancing and hangin out with people i love.

anyhow, it was a fun day, with great competition! let us move on =]

this was a great competition....

Homestead-You guys improved SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much from Carroll!!! I was so happy y'all got that Grand Champion...you guys rock this year!

Highland-I love, love, love, love you guys!!!! it had to be really close between you and homestead. after both homestead and highland's datytime shows...i really didnt know who was winning!! you guys were great and well deserved spot in finals!

Zionsville-Another great show!!! so happy you guys made finals! different show this yaer, but still very good. i just want to point out that yuor girls group, Choraliers, GOT SCREWED!!!!! the def should have been in finals and after watching all the womens choirs, i had it between u guys and highland...i was SHOCKED you didnt make finals.

Ben Davis-ur show is different....and i love it!!!!! still the amazing ben davis we have been seeing all year!! i was really surprised u got 4th when I had u in the evening at 2nd or 3rd...but u guys did AWESOME!!!

Prospect-u guys were so nice and fun!!! love the show

overall, i think the 5 choirs in finals were hte best 5 choirs there....plain and simple...

but

GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE THAT COMPETED!!!

Yea it was hard. The primary vocal judge had the zionsville girls in 1st place but then ron morgan put them in 5th place and it bumped them it. Ron Morgan is one of the toughest judges I have ever seen. But it was fun still.....

I am not bashing another choir on this site - the facts are the facts - the was very questionable behavior by several students. Anderson choirs are VERY supportive of other groups and engage in ALL of those same things that you stated above. Not ALL of the groups that were at the Pre-lim awards displayed that level of kindness or professionalism - those are the facts.

ok i understand where u are coming from now...on ur first post, u made a comment about being gracious winners and i took that as sarcasm as homestead being overly proud of winning....my deepest apologies

im sorry for offending anyone...however this is my first time on here and didnt realize it was a director who first posted that...i was even more shocked to find out that a DIRECTOR would bash another choir on such a public place...homestead is a very classy school, we take pride in all of our hard work and we never want to brag and show off. we stand up and applaud every group in finals during awards and just hope that everyone enjoys themselves at competitions

I feel i must disagree with you Mr. Alder. First i would to say that i feel it is extremely unnessary for a DIRECTOR to be posting arguementative comments about their fiercest competitor. If you are talking about highland, which i think you are, i must disagree. What more could highland do to be more sportsmen like? highland watched anderson and supported their city. they cheered and congradulated anderson. and when finals was announced, they were just as shocked as you. "it makes me wonder what they have been taught about proper behavior" - is this a chop at their director? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. your a director, set an example for your kids.

as for homesteads reply to Mr. Alder's comment....very unnessary as well. those kinds of comments give a bad rep to your choir.

there is no need to bash other choirs on here....anderson and homestead both need to think before they post.

I agree with the statement that you made about Anderson and Highland... what is most disappointing about the whole this is not that Anderson did not make the finals in this competition - we knew that it was a gamble to begin with; the worst thing about it was the extreme unsportsman-like conduct that was displayed by Anderson's fiercest competitor - they all know who they are. It is unfortunate that kind of behavior is allowed to be displayed in such a public forum. It is one thing to win - we ALL know what that feels like; it is another thing all together to be gracious winners - that is NOT what I saw from one of the finals placing choirs - it makes me wonder what they have been taught about proper behavior in those kinds of situations. "What is not taught, seldom happens... what is not learned and practiced, NEVER happens." It just comes down to respect - some people don't even have enough for themselves to be able to share it with others - very sad.

hey calm down..aint no need for that.. AND I don't think they were talkin bout you..they were probably talkin about highland...You are just stirrin the pot my friend aint no need for the bull..k..In my opinion yeah maybe they didnt do their best but they are just as good as any of those choirs that make it and the fact that there is what only 26 of them up there compared to everyone else with like 40 50 people I say they are doin pretty damn good for themselves...See I think when u got double the amount of people up on stage ..U can hide so many mistakes compared to only half the amount of people bein up there. And another thing...SCREW volume..i dont give a damn how loud a choir is...anderson can be loud when they want to be but I think there size does work against them and thats a shame. But technically they are just as good.

Anyways, The results were surprising to some and not so much to others. Homestead..congrats you won and no matter what neone else says..for the obvious reasons given at the competition..you deserved it..

Anderson CLASS ACT way to go!!!
Singers Ulimted Keep your head up. You all are very talented!

Just wanted to say that Huntington Was AMAZING.

It was such a good competition, and all of the choirs could have easily taken any place.

The finals for mixed were VERY close.

Only an 18 point spread through all 5 placings.

Wow.
That's a fierce competition.

Good Job everyone.

Homestead -- AWESOME choreo. Congradulations on your GC
Highland -- I never actually saw you guys
Zionsville -- Very strong guys section, awesome costumes, and nice stage set up. Way to go.
Ben Davis -- Very cool effects, awesome soloists, and great vocals.
Prospect -- Awesome choreography, and great closer outfits.

Everyone did awesome.
I hope to see you all in the future, and best of luck finishing out your season!
