i am curious about the Zionsville "Royalaires" show though, so if anyone saw them and would like to comment it'd be much appreciated.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the whole thing -- they cut it short due to time. We saw three of the numbers, all of which I thought were very good. I loved the set, too -- the stairs thing seems to be popular, although maybe it just seemd that way because they immediately followed Beavercreek.

congratulations to Piqua on a high out-of-state placement, and to Beavercreek and ETC also for making an Ohio-dominated finals happen.

i am curious about the Zionsville "Royalaires" show though, so if anyone saw them and would like to comment it'd be much appreciated.

1st post, like, ever!

What a great competition! An amazing venue, and friendly volunteers made it well worth getting up (and returning to Mundelein) at stupid-o'clock in the morning. My only real complaint was the threat to remove points if outside food was brought in. I know it's a fund-raiser for the program, and I don't have a problem as a parent spending my money at these events. We're a diverse community, and some of our kids can't afford what it cost to feed themselves breakfeast, lunch, and dinner at each of these competitions. I hate thinking that some kids might have had to sneak around and hide their pbj's - why put a kid through that?!

Deepest sympathies to the gals from Princeton (Innovations) whose vocals we couldn't hear over their keyboard amp. It's always amazed me that groups can't do a sound check before performing - it's a wonder there aren't more trainwrecks. It sounded like the keys were severely overdriving the amp, and they just couldn't turn it down enough from the keyboard master volume. I hope we see (hear!) you somewhere else, visually you looked like a competitive group.

Enjoyed all the finalist's shows, and can't imagine judging finals. Great vocals, costumes & choreography all around - some very competitive shows!

The female vocalist from Southmont, Megan: what an amazing voice, and you really sold that song - bravo & congrats! (I heard she's a sophmore too - watch out American Idol boy from MN!)

... on to Pekin!

FC, congrats on the caption award! I know you wanted a higher placement, but it sounds like 2-3-4 were razor thin. Stick with it, because you know how much you've been improving! High Voltage another great finish!

Beavercreek, you've had a solid year and this is another strong placement for you guys. Get ready to work hard this Thursday, and we'll continue to tweak and improve the show. God Bless, Damon Brown

the results after prelims were:

Mundelein...
Franklin Central -21
Piqua -1
and then the rest is correct beyond that... There is a large and Obvious point spread between Mundelein and FC... piqua and FC in my opinion are neck and neck. i 100 percent agree with the results after prelims... They added a judge for finals and i have left the contest so I guess we'll see what happens! i'm as excited and clueless as the rest of you... grr

the results going into finals were
mundelein
piqua
franklin central
beavercreek
etc

i talk to someone there and they said it was like a 200 pt spread from 1st to 5th so i looks like those might end up being the actual results
