Um excuse me, this competition is 4 days and I just have to say that I'm soooooooo excited to go. I just can't wait to see Ankeny and Linn-Mar.

Quick question...is this competition held at Mt. Pleasant High School? If anyone could give me the address or a website that would be great.

I also am very excited, as my friends hear every 30 minutes!

Why isn't Ankeny going last, didn't they win last year?

This could have something to do with the State Speech Competition. Linn-Mar likes to compete in the Speech competitions with a lot of groups, so they might have a few people that are arriving late...?

OK so I just heard from my dad that Linn-Mar "In-Step" goes at 3:25 and the prelim award ceremony starts at 6:20. Finals are to start at 7:30. So.... thats a way to base the schedule.

My friend Laura and I are coming down probably around noonish and staying over that night somewhere. I'm not really sure the details about where exactly but I have a general idea.

I'm trying to decide whether I should stay overnight or not. I'm coming down by train, and the train leaves at 5:50 pm each day. So I either leave before finals, or stay the night and leave the next evening...

Nick, how long are you staying at Mt. Pleasant? And Chelsea, when do the two Linn-Mar groups go?

I agree with you Jay.

I will say though the Mo Show example isn't a very good one. haha Davenport groups always place uber high in day round at Mo Show, and then drop off in finals. (IE 2004 Central 3rd and West 4th in day round... ended up Central 7th and West 6th)

haha ADAM!!! shhh.

I was just using that example because last year was Reese's first, and it was the only example I could think of. heres one more:

last year Central placed 4th at Johnston THE WEEK AFTER not placing at Linn-Mar

yes and who ever has not improved between their first and second competitions? also, when has a reese group ever been at the top of their game at their first competition. and when has a CENTRAL group been very good early in the year? And let's remember last year when Central didn't make finals at Linn-Mar but proceeded to have a GREAT rest of the year, placing 2nd in daytime at Mo-Show. you can't count out a group just because their first competition wasn't amazing!

If central was how they were at Milton you can bet PM beating them.
