Great Job Luers! Wasn't able to see your show in person but saw most of it on the tv's outside, loved it all!

all the competing choirs got composite score sheets of what the judges gave everyone. there were more than 400 total point possible. so luers was not only 1 point from "perfect".

just to help clarify.

Thanks for the 4th!

But I just noticed... Luers had 399? I heard there were 4 finals judges: two vocal, two visual. I would assume that each score sheet totals to 100 points, and if that assumption is correct, can I then assume that Luers was 1 point away from a perfect?!

Wow...

Yeah there were two of each judge up there, 4 total. But I don't know how anyone except Northrop's officials could get everybody's scores....I'm just saying these are most likely not right.

Unless choreography is Latin for "don't move much", the caption award should have gone to FC or DeKalb.

No doubt, BL had great vocals. But best choreography? Not so much.

Luers 399
FC 393
DK 390
Caroll 369
Norwell 366
Busco 358

.....not sure how I feel about this....

Personally, I had...

GC: Franklin Central/Dekalb
3rd: Luers
4th: Busco
5th: Norwell
6th: Carroll

Vocals: Franklin Central/Dekalb
Visuals:Dekalb

Luers was good, but just lacked the same BAM show that the other two had in my opinion...they sing well, but do not move..., should they win Ben Davis, I'll be very impressed....But congrats to them at any rate, they're working there way up to a spot with the big dogs!

I agree....Exept I don't know about busco being in 4th....and luers working there way up to a spot with the big dogs? Ha they are a huge choir they are a big dog! but I am impressed by Busco and Norwell being two small mixed choirs sticking it out in the finals at a tough comp. like this....And I think your right with visuals it should have gone to either Dekalb or FC, I mean Luers was clean but they didn't do much choreographed stuff it was alot of do whatever you think looks good..With vocals though I think Luers deserved it

CONGRATULATIONS LUERS! You guys did so good and deserved 1st place! You guys have really improved over the years, and make sure you keep it up! Take it to state! As for the other choirs there, you guys were all wonderful, and I especially loved Carroll's step, it was awesome! =]
And to Charisma, you guys have thrown another great invitational, you're keeping the flame alive. And you guys are doing great too! You've improved so much in the three weeks since I saw you last, and you guys better keep it up cause you sure as hell better go to state too! =D
Great job all. Success.

After spending the whole day running around like a crazy person, I finally have time to sit down and reflect upon the day. I missed seeing Luers perform but was told by MANY people that they nailed it and deserved the win. It's kind of nice to see Luers shaking everyone up a bit....won't hurt any of us and should definitely keep us all on our toes.

After seeing Luers' show for the first time, I am quite happy to see them win GC at Northrop, and this is coming from someone who competed against them! They deserved it! Their show was amazing, and NEW! It gets so tiresome to sit and watch show after show using the usual show choir routine. In fact, some groups have been following the exact same formula for decades now and still consistently place in the finals, despite the fact that I can never remember their shows.
Luers doesn't have a formula; their show is a little weird, but in an absolutely amazing way! It's a much needed breath of fresh air in a competition. Of course, this doesn't even touch on their amazing vocals! As for everyone griping about the choreography: Sure, it may be a little simple, but it's clean and EFFECTIVE, which is a lot better than a bunch of really hard dance moves executed perfectly that still just look like vomit because there's too much going on. Every performer in their choir isn't just a show choir kid. They're actors! Again, congrats Minstrels, and may you continue your victory throughout the rest of your season!

Alright, I think I had too much Sprite this time...

After watching results for over a decade and often scratching my head at the results, it's nice to have a contest results match our "internal" rankings! CONGRATULATION Luers!!!!

Loved the other shows and really loved Carrolls opener since I'm an Aida fan. I believe when you have such distinctive costumes you better be able to back them up and you did.

Dekalb and FC solid as usual, it's no wonder you are already GC's this year, I'm sure you will be again this year.

But Luers, LOVE LOVE your show! You have a special choir this year, and I hope you really enjoy yourselves. Rememeber that the only opinions that really count are the judges, and so far, they seem to love your show too. We were all "wowed", that's for sure. Good Luck next week!!

Can someone tell me what is bad about Luers show they they do not believe them deserving of winning now TWO Grand Championships. Again, just curious.

Congrats Luers!
