Interesting thoughts you have there...I agree with the fact that Anderson has done a very nice job of taking risks and really improving their shows and vocals...they have really become a great show choir in the past few years....I do also agree that they did perform well at Busco but I would say that Dekalb also did any excellent job. They performed their hearts out that night.

I am in no way connected to Dekalb...so do not take my words as their's but I would have to say that if you think their show this year resembles anything like the previous few years...well then maybe you need to dig up the old choir videos and watch them again...Nothing in this show is anything similar to past shows. I do admit the three different costume changes and bright colors may seem familiar...and some of the same choreography moves are trademark Dwight Jordan moves...but that is Dekalb's style. I have watched this group since the early 90s and no one show resembles another year's show.(Last year the whole ending of their show was Elvis and the year before that they did quite an array of differnt styles of songs....nothing of which I would consider the same.) As for the vocal risks...last year dekalb had some kick-butt vocals...and that was proven when they won vocal awards at several competitions, the same goes for the 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2003 comp. years. The risk on choreography, well lets just say that not many groups have such high power dancing as they do...and it stays pretty consistant throughout the show. Yes, Busco's shoreography probably does look alike...that is because their choreographer graduated from Dekalb and he was a member of the show choir.

Like I said before, I am not connected to this group at all and I do respect your thoughts but I would like to say that I am a fan of Dekalbs and I have watched them perform for a long time and they continue to suprise many people from year to year with their shows. This is totally my opinion though.

It's funny that you mention tapes becuase I have done some diggin up. And still to me, their choreography and their vocals resemble shows from the previous years. Almost identical. Yes they do a wide variety of genre but to me they don't bring a different sound to each song. They are very fun to watch becuase yes they do a lot of dancing but at the same time I get a worn out from watching all the moving around. Not every song has to have a lot of dancing in the show to make it oustanding or entertaining. But I understand that has been their trademark choreography for some time and I totally respect but that's why I stated that I wasn't surprised with their show becuase I knew what to expect and as someone who keeps up with show choir and has been in it, I personally like to see groups bring somethin new and fresh to the stage every year and in my opinion Anderson does that every year and with every song they bring a new sound to go a long with whatever genre they do. Also a lot of the years that I have watched Dekalb, I never really got their themes if there were at all. And when I did, it took me awhile to actually get ahold of it but it's cool a lot of groups choose to not have themes.

But anywho Dekalb, do what you do. Love the flashy dresses and the high energy dancing but that's all I really like about Dekalb. They are great at what they do as far as that in my own opinion. Good Luck!

Yup, found the order form :] Problem is, my scanner's acting up and refuses to talk to my computer

I'd be willing to transcribe and post the form if you just can't wait

edit: These are pretty close replicas; biggest difference is I don't have some big, showy font they had. -shrug- And yeah, I know it says top /six/ choirs .. I just copied the form verbatim.

Actually, some group came in (unplanned, apparently) day-of and filmed. I know because I nearly stumbled over one of their cameras and died

The only way to order was a mail-in half sheet of paper. I don't remember much more than that. I'll see if my parents grabbed one.

No, there were some "scheduling" problems.

you guys did great... loved the performance... it looked like you were having fun while doing it. and that really helps... you guys could reach very high standards. keep working at it.... great job!

thank-you so much!! we really do love performing the show. we're sad we only have a couple competitions this year because we enjoy the show so much. energy is something we really stress and with as many rookies as we have in our group this year it's been hard to "teach energy" eheh.

but we loved everyone! u guys were shweeet! as always. :] I wish you all the best!

I am so proud of Anderson Singers and Class Act. I personally think Anderson should have received GC for the simple fact that I was not surprised with Dekalb's show. Anderson every year is taking risks. And I don't think it is respected as it should be. Although I have to say this year FINALLY judges are starting to open their eyes and realize you know what..? Atown can get down with the big name show choirs and defeat them.

Northside, I loved the ballad and you all looked so close up there as a show choir family. I love that about choirs who really love eachother on and off the stage!

East Noble. I was VERY surprised you didn't make it into finals. I thought you and Roncalli should have flipped places.

Roncalli. The tap was good...the flips were great but I don't think you should ever leave the stage empty. I think you should Always keep the audience into the groove of the show.

CONGRATS CLASS ACT!

Congrats to everyone though. It was very close. Very fun competition!

Everyone did a great job yesterday. To say the least from what I saw yesterday I was thoroughly entertained. North Side you guys have a great show. I absolutely love your ballad. It's always been one of my faves. Dekalb sadly I did not get to see you perform either time. But I have to say you guys, from what I heard, deserved that victory yesterday. I have a feeling this season is gonna be neck and neck for us and you guys. It's this high competition that keeps us all striving to do better and better each week. We've spent the last two weeks making changes to our show and pushing ourselves harder than ever before. Obviously you guys did the same. I'm proud to say that we were second to you guys. Never any better group of kids or parents to be second to. I personally love your kids and my mom was sitting next to some of your parents all day and said they were the nicest people to talk to all day. Thanks for the high level of competition you guys bring to the table. You always bring out our best.

North Side thank you for all your kind words throughout the entire day. I was severely caught off guard when I walked out of our homeroom after finals to be greeted by your entire group. The sportsmanship shown by your group is something everyone should strive for.

Yesterday was a hard fought day by all. All of us were out there to win and you could tell. Congratulations to everyone that was there yesterday. We all entertained the audience to the fullest.

Tyler.
