Haha, then I was totally wrong. ROB Jones is a choreographer that has choreographed for a few groups. Last year he did GCS's Blue Skies before it was re-done by Mike Weaver, and has worked with Sauk Prairie before too. He's worked with many show choirs, those are just the two I know. He has started a show choir for graduated students in the La Crosse Wisconsin aread, the Grand River Singers, . My bad guys, sorry. According to the show choir's website here is a small biography on him.

"Robert Jones has enjoyed many years performing with Disneyworld, Opryland, cruise lines and professional theater companies throughout the United States. He has choreographed many show choirs throughout Wisconsin, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Illinois and judged competitions throughout the country. He is proud to be co-founder of Grand River Productions."

I saw him and talked to him last year a lot as he was at many of the same competitions we were at, he's a great guy!

Oh, if it's Ron Jones, then I know who you're talking about. The post said Rob Jones, maybe that was just a typo though!

That's fricken sweet...we should tell him that our band director is obsessed with Family Guy...maybe he'll throw in a few extra points haha. Just kidding of course.

maybe if we tell him that its doc's birthday! that might work....right?lol

Ron Jones is a fairly well known arranger, and I'm fairly certain he writes the music for the hit TV program Family Guy--there has been discussion and I think someone confirmed it one time.

What is Rob Jones' resumé? He's one of the many judges I either haven't heard of, or didn't hear when at a competition previously. (So far for this competition though, he's the only one I didn't know.)

I assume Andrew will be a critique judge though, since Hastings is one of his groups.

How is Arlington? Our director said they were one of the top groups in the midwest but that's it.

Anyway, I'll trust him and put them high...

GC: La Crosse Central "Grand Central Station" (BV, BC)
1RU: Arlington Heights "OnStage!"
2RU: Hastings "Riverside Company" OR Eau Claire "OASC" (BB)*
3RU: Eau Claire "OASC" (BB)* OR Hastings "Riverside Company"
4RU: Fort Atkinson "Twelfth Street Singers"
5RU: Milton "Choralation"

*I think that we have a fair chance at Best Band this weekend. At our last rehearsal, the band worked on balance with us and our director was happy. I guess we can't really judge until we get on stage! Otherwise, it will probably go to GCS.

I have to say because I've never seen GCS (we never encountered them last year) and Arlington Heights live, I am really excited. I'm pumped to see Hastings show, too. I've seen it once already and something tells me it won't get old for a while because of the wonderful show design.

We at Memorial are excited to see you all there! Monona Grove is a great bus ride (like 3 1/2 hours or something) and I  bus rides!

-Casey-

allright so like there have been a lot of predictions from ppl, this is how i think it will go down

GC: Onstage
1RU: GCS
2RU: Hastings
3RU: OASC
4RU: Fort or Brodhead
5RU: Brodhead or Fort

have ppl made a lot of changes since last week....cuz i know that we have been working hard this week and have had some really good rehersals and i believe that we will shock some ppl @ mg on sat.....good luck 2 everyone

This made me giggle! It's Fort Atkinson "South High Street Singers"

yeah i just found it kind of weird...because fort isn't even big enough to have a "twelfth street"...at least i've never heard of it. and we're named after where the old high school was located on "south high street" so there yah go. thanks lyssa and jorge for the correction. see everyone this weekend! we're all getting really pumped for MG!

How is Arlington? Our director said they were one of the top groups in the midwest but that's it.

4RU: Fort Atkinson "Twelfth Street Singers"

As already stated, John Hersey has placed very high in finals competition in the past few years, even winning at times. Here is an example from last year.

Fort Atkinson 2006-

Grand Champion: John Hersey
1st Runner Up: Mt. Prospect
2nd Runner Up: Davenport Central
3rd Runner Up: Brodhead
4th Runner Up: Davenport West
5th Runner Up: Cedar Rapids Jefferson

Best Vocal Ensemble: John Hersey
Most Effective Choreography: John Hersey
Best Back-up Combo: Mt. Prospect
Best Crew: Cedar Rapids Jefferson

And Fort Atkinson is not the "Twelfth Street Singers", it's the "South High Street Singers".
