Yes, it is indeed severely non-traditional for Ankeny.

No worries though! They still tap in the closer
;)

That explains why their opener is amazing. Coldplay.......AH

I haven't seen the show but just looking at the selection it might be safe to say this is the most non-traditional set ever from Ankeny. I do like all of those songs though!

"What happened Ankeny!!!"

The judges simply don't like the show. It's not traditional, it's very different, the judges main comment was that it was "too aggressive".

But damn, that's a pretty great "critique"

Congrats to all groups! I would post show's but the program didn't list numbers and I can only remember a few numbers for each group. In response to the "Ankeny" comments, they were as incredible as they always are, which shows how ready the top 4 groups were.

Mitchell blew me away, I hadn't seen them live for about 8 years and I forgot how exciting your shows are; and from what Stephen was telling us, he taught it to you guys in a week over winter break? that's unreal... I love the closer medly, and as far out as the closer outfits were upon first impression, they grew on all of us! Congrats on a well deserved win!

Eisenhower- Great show! I love that you are trying different numbers ie. black velvet, and not just doing the same style throughout the show. The closer wasn't as clean as the rest of the show, but in finals you definitely stepped it up and made those little spots forgivable.

Johnston- Great job guys, I know you've been working hard, and I've enjoyed helping you and Synergy out along the way! Congrats on the placings, best solo awards, and best band award!

Ankeny- You guys put on a heck of a great show. Your energy wasn't surpassed by any group in finals, and neither was your heart for performing. I forget your closer but I remember being in awe after watching it. Good luck with the rest of the season, and I hope I get to see your show again.

What a coup for Friend de Coup! (Sorry, I had to.)
This must have been a great finals and a great day.
Anyone with a program should DEFINITELY PM me, because we need so much information from this competition it's barely funny.

hmmm wow. very interesting. Congrats Mitchell!!

I'm pretty sure Ankeny graduated a BUNCH of seniors, so maybe that had something to do with it?
