I wanted to tell you all that I had an amazing time for the time I was there and got to hang out with people .. I did write down some stuff for Fairfield, Lafayette Jeff, and Southwestern .. but I had to leave after that " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" />
By the way .. I have to make this compliment .. there is a girl from Fairfield, she's black and she's always in the front row normally in the center, she had a solo I think in the closer .. what an amazing performer!! Major props to her, I couldn't keep my eyes off of her she was so entertaining ...

I agree with caseman. I didn't like the way it was set up either. I wish there had been prelims, and finals cause i like to see the groups twice. But what can you do without air conditioning?!?!?!

Congratulations!!!!!! LOL i thought it was ok i just did not like the way it was set up but that was not their fault i also did not think the awards were ever going to happen!!!! LOL
Correct me if i am wrong but i think this happens a lot and i know from my point of view when we have be judged by our choreographer they seem to be the hardest on us because they know what the moves are supposed to be. right? we all have opinions dont be sorry just dont get mad when someone expresses theres.

Just because it is commonplace doesn't make it right. A choreographer knows what the moves are supposed to look like. He also knows that his reputation is staked on the performance of his groups. He also knows that he is being paid by this group and if he judges them poorly, he could be out some big bucks.
No one should place themselves in this position, and I believe that if they do, they deserve any questioning directed their way.

Concerning adjudicating...when you pay one of the judges that is judging you...that is a conflict of interest. No matter how impartial someone says they are, it is completely unethical and taints the results beyond compare. And the group can take measures to avoid this situation completely. I know my group, the Encores did. The very reason we went to this competition in question was because our former director was slotted to judge the competition we were going to attend. I don't see why other groups cannot take these measures. No, I don't blame the group members, and I never said I did. They had no control over the situation. Although, I do blame the choreographer and the director. Both could, and should have done something.
All I said about Southwestern's performance was that after watching all the groups, I thought they got the position they deserved. I'm not sure what being a small school has to do with it, but apparently they are. I'm not taking from their efforts, I never said they were bad. They have done very well this year. Like you said, this was a real tough competition. A lot of really stellar groups were there. I don't think that Southwestern is yet up to that level, but it sure seems they are on their way. Two GC's is an awesome year.

You are representing Pike ENCORE and I am taking back. I am sure other members of your group and your director would not be happy but again maybe they don't care.

Thanks! My sister and I were both there...she is a Freshman at Highland and I am a Junior at Anderson...she was actually the best performer from Highland Starliters!!! We also have 2 other brothers (both Juniors) and another sister (Sophomore) in Anderson Singers.

Ok first off i am a 3 year member of ESPRIT and out of the three years i have been in it and all the year i have watched show choir i have never felt this way. i feel that we as a group have pulled together through all the hard times we have had!! But we have never lost sight of the major goal we set for our group which was to win a grand champion at a show choir contest because in 20 years our group has never gotten one so we worked our ass of and we got it... it made ppl mad becasue they said we did not deserve it.... so that lead us to our second goal to prove to the ppl that we beat that we do in fact deserve it so we went to St. Clairsville and we bet those two groups again for a second grand champion. so in one year we got two grand champs!!!! but take this the wrong way i am not say that you should kiss our feet like ppl to clinton becasue we won 2 times. i am just sticking up for us because we do not perform at a 9th place level and we have not place that low since i have been in it... like i said i just think people are mad becasue we have beaten them this year ****cough**** ****PIKE***** ****cough**** and to shelbyville i love u all and i really like your show!!!!!
