Central also has been known to take a while to get into Andy's choreography.

I know this sounds weird, but that actually brought a smile to my face. This is the main complaint that Andy has when he practices with us every year. Lack of energy has been a problem in our program for the longest time.

That's one of those quotes that I sort of want to hang in the choir as sort of a "motivator" for this year, but then people would be like, "who the hell is Jay Burken?"

Hopefully this year we can reverse the trend!

And I promise I don't mean that in the typical "My choir's the best!!!" sense... I'm genuinely curious (and puzzled)

Unfortunately, I think Jarad's choreography cpuld bring Xavier down again this year.

Honest question... What do you mean by this? Just wondering. Xhilaration finished with the top choreography score at four competitions last year - more times than they got the top vocal score...

Ooooo the schedule really changes things around. This is gonna be a very competitive day round. My predictions.....

West Des Moines Valley "Choralation"
Bloomington Kennedy "Rhythm in Gold"
Davenport Central "Central Singers, Inc"
Cedar Rapids Xaver "Xhilaration"
Iowa City High "4th Avenue Jazz Company"
Iowa City West "The Good Time Company"

BV: Valley
BC: Valley
BB: Valley

that's just what will happen after day round.... with each of these groups being so good, who knows how finals will go. I think this is how the schedule is gonna affect everyone.

City High can be really off some years, so who knows what this year will bring for them. Honestly, any of these groups could have an off year. Who really knows what the transition to Esser will mean for Valley. Bloomington Kennedy's vocals have been known to be VERY iffy, while Xavier is expected to shine vocally. Unfortunately, I think Jarad's choreography cpuld bring Xavier down again this year. Kennedy knows how to perform his stuff though. Central also has been known to take a while to get into Andy's choreography.

Papio and Lewis Central also could very well contend to make finals. Steven Todd has given Lewis Central some really nice choreography, and I've heard Papio sing lights out before. Muscatine is a fast growing group, and I always underestimate Dowling CATHOLIC (lol i remembered)... basically this is gonna be hard to predict!
