Waubonsie Valley High School is located in Aurora, IL (a suburb of chicago). I sat next to them during finals awards (they had two solo competition finalists) and they were really nice! I didn't get to see the show though. They were right after us.

(i mapquested it so i think its IL... jorge could be right tho)

This is also Waubonsie's first year. They are directed by Mark Meyers, and their choreographer is Dwight Jordan.

Results From Varsity Division
1.) Holmen
2.) Lodi
3.) Vivace

Neenah: you guys were great! So much better than I thought you would be. Is your choreographer April James (we decided it was but we werent sure)? The vocals were pretty good. A little lacking in projection and energy (I really think the mics were weird). The choreo was a lot of fun. Arms were somewhat sloppy though. Great faces. Watch that your band uniforms don't come undone. I was able to see many closer costumes in your 4th song. The songs were a LOT of fun. I enjoyed your show (songs) the most out of the day!

No, Stephen Todd is our choreographer with Jared Voss doing our closer. Yeah, we've been working on ways to get our band jackets to stay closed but something always seems to happen to them during a performance!

Without her scores the placings in both rounds would be all different, and Waubonsie Valley would've made finals.

i only got to see Waconia's show on the big screen because of the time slots we had. it looked really fun from what i saw. I know Jen's scores were all over the board the entire day. Without her scores the placings in both rounds would be all different, and Waubonsie Valley would've made finals. Krystal's scores for 3rd-6th were all very close so i assume that's why Waconia got 6th for her. i heard waconia's finals show was just killer!

Milton: I really really really liked you guys! Actually I had a headache in day round and I wanted you guys to go away. But i adored you in your 2nd performance! Your vocals were excellent! I LOVE the opener. a lot. It's one of my favorite openers so far! You guys had GREAT soloists! The show was just a ton of fun! There was this one girl with straight brown hair. I LOVE HER!!! she was absolutely GORGEOUS! i meant to go up and talk to her but i forgot! she was an amazing performer and I fell in love with her! so if someone could tell her that i would greatly appreciate it!

I had a blast! thanks so much again for hosting us! This was an awesome competition. I hope we didnt bother too many people with our loud card playing and loud cheers, and half-naked men. YAY FOR MILTON!

I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed the show the second time. Was the girl w/ straight brown hair, was she a soloist in one of the songs, or was she just one of the girls that you noticed during the show?

Here are some scores from the night round (i can only remember the top 4)

Sauk Prairie 774
CR Washington 773
Waconia 703
CR Jefferson 690

so there was a BIG jump between 1st/2nd and 3rd. In day rounds Sauk Prairie was about 35 over Jeff and Wash. Jeff beat Wash by 1 point in day round. I know in day round Wash was 1st in vocals and 6th in choreo. Sauk was 2nd vocals 1st choreo. I'm pretty sure Jeff was 3rd vocals, 2nd choreo. There was about a 40 point difference between 3rd and 4th.... day round went like this:

1st: Sauk Prairie
2nd: CR Jefferson
3rd: CR Washington
4th: Bloomington Jefferson
5th: Waconia
6th: Neenah

I heard Bloomington Jefferson was very strong in the day round.

I HAD A GREAT TIME!!!! this competition was soooooo much fun! Right when I walked in the door there was an electric atmosphere. I had a blast! i wish we couldve gone in past years cuz it was a great competition! we all loved it! Our hosts were really nice. Derrick you were awesome! The Milton moms were AMAZING! i loved them! Everyone was so supportive of the other groups. It was a lot of fun!

I got to see a few groups in night round (I came late because of speech team so I didnt get to see any groups in day round)

CR Jefferson.... you were soooooo much better than you were supposed to be! lol good job. Vocals were extremely weak. There was very little sound coming out of you guys until the ballad. The choreography was well executed. Faces were really lacking. Everyone seemed really tired.... But everything changed during the closer. The closer is so strong- vocally, choreographically, and the band rocks. To be quite honest- the closer makes you forget about the rest of the show. I thought you were absolutely fabulous in the closer. The choreo was overall really good too (mostly just lacking faces). I would not have put you in 4th place. A lot of our parents were very impressed with you guys. I honestly thought your closer would win it for you guys!

Sauk Prairie: you were really awesome as well. Great energy, great faces. You were very into the performance. I don't really remember the band. It didnt really impact me as much as Jeff's but congrats on the band getting 1st in finals. I think the microphones were sort of weird at Milton. You guys didn't really sound that great in finals. Great blend though. And the tone was excellent. The projection started off great but sort of diminished as you went on with the show. The energy really was great. I just have never been a big Sauk Prarie fan, but you guys were really good. So many Momentum kids could not stop talking about you!
