Will the finals order be like it normally is, prelims placement order?

Homewood “The Network”

and theres no creativity in any part of their show.

This statement simply isn’t true (as is the case with many of the other statements you made). I would provide you with some of the many reasons why that is so; however, that would require me entertaining this idea further, which I will not do.

QUOTE (jdcritt @ Feb 04 2016, 01:32 AM) *

It probably is the closer that stood out to me, and the rest of it was concept.

Really, it wasn’t the multifaceted irony of a show about the Bible being performing in the context of *competitive (*public) high school show choir while wearing costumes that I can not imagine anyone would wear ever to church?

In my opinion, Homewood's choreography was more intricate and difficult than Oak Mountain's choreography. I believe they use April James.

I have noticed that Oak Mountain has stepped it up quite a bit this year, though. Homewood's show does tend to be a bit more traditional. I don't think the director likes all of the electronics and flashy props.

it seemed to me that Homewood and Albertville both lost steam going into finals

This is probably the source of our disagreement because I saw a huge improvement in Homewood between prelims and finals. Auburn was about the same in both performances. That's why I came out saying that I could not pick an overall winner between them and Auburn with OM in 3rd.

I wouldn't count Enterprise out either... I'm sure they're hungry after not making finals this past weekend!

I was very impressed by Enterprise. They had a very solid show, vocals were good, choreography was pretty clean, and facials were decent. If they pick up their energy they should do well at this competition.

I think you are correct on this. I disagree with both of Oak Mountain's placements. They should've been either 2nd or 3rd in prelims, and 3rd in finals.

You are entitled to your own opinion, sure. But I think the judges completely got this one right. In prelims, I can completely see how both Homewood and Albertville beat Oak Mountain in prelims. Auburn was the clear grand champion throughout the whole day, but Oak Mountain turned up the heat in finals where as it seemed to me that Homewood and Albertville both lost steam going into finals, with Homewood having the slight edge because of the vocal tie breaker. Don't get me wrong, I think Homewood is capable of beating Oak Mountain, but it isn't going to be as easy.

It probably is the closer that stood out to me, and the rest of it was concept. I'm interested in seeing these changes that you speak of. One thing is for sure, both groups will have some sort of a change I the show this Saturday. Also, Oak Mountain was louder vocally, and I will definitely agree that Homewood needs more dynamics.

The reason I say that the show felt slow was that there seemed to be almost too much in the show for me. 11 songs and a bow opposed to Homewood's 8.5, Tift's 7, Auburn's 8, Albertville's 7, and Appling's 6. It is creative, don't get me wrong, it's just really long.

Predictions:

GC: Homewood (BV, BC-Tie, OE)
1RU: Oak Mountain (BC-Tie)
2RU: Tift/Bradley
3RU: Bradley/Tift
4RU: Opelika

These could change since I have yet to see Bradley, Opelika, Enterprise, or DCA. Tullahoma made it last year and could possibly make it again this year. I have Homewood and Oak Mountain tied for BC because they both have great choreography. I wasn't a huge fan of Oak Mountain's show in some areas, but the opener and closer are great. The big things about it are that it's kinda "preachy" like Auburn's 2014 show, and it feels long. Homewood, on the other hand, has a very fast paced show with some really cool things in it that I will not reveal since y'all can watch the live feed and see it for yourselves.

I predict Homewood Network will win, followed by Bradley Central. I actually thought Appling was better than they scored in Montgomery too.

Here's a twist for this year.. Albertville has changed from its usual 6 finalists to just 5. Not sure why except for maybe time purposes, or what, but it has been changed.
