Question....why is Dowling competing in the 3A division here? I don't think I've ever seen them compete in a division lower than 4A/Mixed/Open. I know in the past, Wahlert, another Catholic school in Iowa, has bumped down to a lower division a few times but I've never seen Dowling do it. Is there a reason for this happening or was the schedule not posted/made correctly or?

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens when 4 of Nebraska's best programs collide. I can't wait!

This is going to be a great competition. There are a lot of great schools going. I'm excited And a bit heartbroken to compete for the very last time. Good luck to all groups and I can't wait to share the stage with these people this weekend.

Wow, I'm so excited and a little sad for this to be my last competition ever! All of the groups competing this weekend are really amazing. I'm especially excited to see Dowling Catholic, they came to our comp last year and I was so entertained by their show! Good luck to everyone competing this weekend!

I'm so absolutely pumped for this competition, not only do I get to see some of my friends that I haven't seen all season but I get to be a part of some really intense and exciting competition. I can't wait to see what happens and I wish everybody the best of luck going into the weekend! It's going to be an interesting one!

This looks like one really tough competition that I'm excited to hear about!! I have so many friends competing here from groups all across the board and I'm gonna be there rooting for all of them in spirit!! This is just my prediction but like I always say I'm excited to see if anyone will prove my guess wrong!! (-:

GC: ATSC (BV BC)
1RU: LSW Resonance (BB)
2RU: WIG
3RU: Infinity
4RU: Dowling Catholic
5RU: Harmonia Mundi/Ralston RUSH

This previous Saturday I saw Infinity put everything they had into their performance and they just left everything out on the stage and I could not be more proud of them; they truly have a fantastic show. If they give a performance like they did a couple days ago at Norris I think it's possible for them to even move up a spot !! Overall, these groups are all so amazing with so many talented people in every choir and I wish every single one of them the best of luck!!!

I'm so excited for this competition! It's going to be really interesting, as the top 4 choirs (Westside, Lincoln Soutwest, Millard North, Millard West) are all "themed shows" (some more traditionally themed, some more contemporary) and also have different choreographers (Millard North - Ben Ecklund; Lincoln Southwest - April James and Ben Ecklund; Millard West - Stephen Todd; Westside - a few, but I don't think it's any of the others (besides maybe Stephen). As Parker said, there's major potential for some upsets here. Regardless of placements, I'm so excited to a.) see Resonance for the first time this season b.) see ATSC and WIG again, as it's been awhile since I've seen either this season, and c.) see all of my friends from all 3 groups and have a really fun time!

With ATSC, Millard North, Millard West and Lincoln SW, this is pretty much Nebraska's state championship (Even if it's in Iowa)

I was planning on taking this weekend off, but I may have to come to see Southwest they have been one of my favorite Nebraska groups since I saw them at Westside's comp in 2013 and I'm really glad they have had such a successful season. Usually I get to see them like three times a year but I haven't even seen them compete yet

Good luck to all groups! This one will be interesting.

Oooo I remember that I saw Southwest for the first time in 2013 too at Urbandale. They had a great show that year, their ballad was on point. They have an amazing show this year as well and they execute it very well. I would not be surprised if they took home the GC here. Should be a great competition!

I am wondering if this is the competition that ATSC is finally beaten by a Nebraska group (they haven't been beaten by one in 13 years according to a post I saw in the crystal cup forums). I'm not saying that it's likely, or that I'm predicting it, but I think that there is a greater possibility of it happening here than there has been in a long time. Lincoln Southwest's show this year is truly incredible, with their theme being candy land and being choreographed by both April James and Ben Eklund. Their show design is fantastic. The costumes, the set pieces, the song selection... everything. So awesome. I had the pleasure of being able to see them at Midwest Cup and was absolutely blown away. The show design with the visuals and vocals put together is truly beautiful, and their band absolutely melts your face off. I think they may have what it takes to upset ATSC. While following the results of 2016 competitions as they have happened so far, it caught my eye that Rez and ATSC have had one interesting common opponent: Linn-Mar. Although Rez was passed in finals by Linn-Mar, they were ahead of them in prelims at Cedar Rapids Washington. The week after that however, Westside was actually beaten by Linn-Mar in both prelims and finals. So basically, as a common opponent to measure, counting prelims and finals, Lincoln Southwest was 1-1 against 10th Street Edition, and ATSC was 0-2. And those results were within a week of each other! Since getting 2nd at Cedar Rapids Mo Show (which, by the way, was an INCREDBILE accomplishment, beating very good groups like Wheaton Warrenville South, Sioux City East, Prairie, and others), Rez will have had several weeks off of competing to give it all they've got this upcoming Saturday. And since it is their last time competing this year, it truly could be a magical performance for them. The last competition for a group always has an extra boost of excellence. Again, I'm not predicting it to happen, I just think its a legitimate possibility that I wanted to bring up!

Regardless of what happens, I'm really looking forward to competing this upcoming weekend against these two great groups, Millard West, and all of the other great show choirs that will be there. Lewis Central is always a great competition, and I'm sure it will be again this year! The season is unfortunately nearing an end, but the "Clash of the Titans" always provides a great ending/near to the end of the season competition. Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday! Good luck to all groups; it's going to be a great one!
