They're posted up above now! I'm usually pretty thorough when preparing events, but it looks like I missed it on their website. If you're curious, the judge bios can be found on page 22: Waconia Director's Handbook.

Just to be clear there was not an error in score, but RIG was not eligible for best band with an adult in the band. Congrats to Impulse and everyone! A surprising, but awesome set of results, everyone killed it!

haha yeah I wrote that pretty quickly after it had been announced and didn't word it very well. I'm in no way trying to discount RIG's band, they rocked it!

I had to leave finals after Dubuque but let me say-- this competition was so strong today. I was bummed I couldn't see my home group today but I got to see some old friends from other groups which was good! A few thoughts on the groups that I saw--

Prelims:

Jefferson-- You guys improved SO much since Kennedy's competition. So much cleaner and the vocals were a lot stronger. You did really well in daytimes and I'm sure you did great in finals!

TG-- Really nice show again. I think you're dancing and singing was very strong as usual but you're daytime performance felt like the energy level wasn't completely up. BUT I still thought you guys slayed as usual and I'm sure you brought it up a notch in finals!

Bemidji-- Today was the first time I've ever seen you guys and I hope that it's not the last because I LOVEDDDD the show. It was so good and the theme was so simple but complex at the same time. I loved the opener and thought it was a really unique choice but it was a very good one at that! The dancing was sooo so good and the wall of sound you guys produce is amazing. Good job and I know you did well tonight as well!

Kennedy-- I didn't stay for finals at your competition a few weekends ago but I really wish I would've to see you guys because The Circle of Life was on point tonight! As a whole show, in my opinion, you guys won the day rounds. since I didn't stay for finals I don't know if some groups brought it up and some brought it down but I'm sure you guys brought it and I have a feeling you will win tonight. It's going to be super close but with the vocals and choreography like yours, you should win everywhere you go. I was so impressed. And the opening male soloist should win everywhere he goes too! Put him on broadway please! Can't wait to see you guys at Best of Show (Which btw I think it's super cool that you're coming ) Good luck tonight!

Finals:

St. Francis-- I'm obsessed with you guys lol ever since I room hosted you last year I just can't get enough of you all. Your vocals, in my opinion, were close if not tied with Kennedy so we'll see what happens tonight! You have so much energy throughout the show and it never dies! You're opener is very strong and my favorite part of your show. Good luck and see you guys soon!

Dubuque-- I think you guys surprised me the most out of any of the groups today. I knew you were good but I had NO idea you were on the level that you performed in finals. There is a girl in the front for the majority of the time who is one of the best performers I've ever seen and so hopefully someone can relay that message to her! Your vocals and choreo were very consistant throughout the show and you never die which I think is amazing considering how much moving you do during your show. Job well done!!

This is how I have it after seeing all of the finals groups:

GC: Bloomington Kennedy (BV BC BB)
1Ru: Bemidji
2Ru: TG
3Ru: St. Francis
4Ru: Jefferson
5Ru: Dubuque

2Ru-5Ru could honestly go anyway. This competition rocked

Are finalists random order or placement?

Finalists perform in the same order they performed during prelims.

Yes, due to the impending snow storm

La voce: great show design. Kept me entertained the whole time.
