After watching all of the large mixed groups in prelims, I cannot make any predictions. Every choir gave a fantastic performance and offered something unique. I will say that I think most of the groups that will make finals have a solid chance of winning. Today is a true showcase of champions.

I'm beginning the trek across the state of Ohio soon! If one of you lovely folks who's already there would be so kind as to post a run down of preliminary awards and finalists, that would be superb. I'll probably be arriving during the dinner break.

I got ya covered

This is the earliest I've ever been in the arena. I've never seen it so empty!

Predictions:

GC: Burbank (BC)
1RU: Loveland (BV)
2RU: Marysville
3RU: Clover Hill
4RU: Hurricane
5RU: Marion Harding

The only group I've actually seen is Loveland (when they came to Petal this year). Their vocals were legit. Should be a close one between the top few groups.

I agree with Patrick. How is it already time for the Crystal Classic? I'm SO ready, but at the same time I'm probably not even prepared for what's about to happen. Last year I was pelted with cookies from Twinsburg - which tbh probably a highlight of my show choir life - so I cannot wait to see what happens this year.

Sadly, I have to work Saturday morning. It's the start of spring break at Kent State and as a staff member at this fine institution, I have to finish up some stuff before I can head out. But I CANNOT wait to join the SCC folks for the evening!

Am I the only one who thinks this competition could end up being really close?

Certainly would've made things interesting if they could and did.

Unfortunately, the Clinton Junior H.S. "Ambassadors" are no longer un-beaten and up on the pinnacle they have been on the past several years, but don't get me wrong, they are still one of the best.

I'll be hanging out all day in the arena. If you see me, please say "Hi", I'm currently planning on chilling by myself.
