Many would argue that Glenwood didn't "come out of nowhere" But that's a topic for another day.

No no, not meant to be a bash on Glenwood at all. They performed phenomonally and deserved the win. I used "coming out of nowhere" for where predictions were before the event. Most people had CG and Hastings in the top two, with Glenwood either 2nd Runner-up or 3rd Runner-up. Come out of nowhere may have been a poor choice of words, but from where they were predicted, it could be considered an upset.
The thing is, show choir has little "fact" to it. Results are truly irrelevant after the competition. Group A could win 10 straight competitions in sweeps, and Group B could miss finals every other week. When you get to the competition between them and Group B wins, everyone's shocked! But to the judges that day and their OPINION, Group B deserved to win. This happens literally all the time. No two judges have the exact same opinions.

And isn't that what's great about show choir? We all get to enjoy the groups we enjoy, and don't care for other groups. And that is our right. But that isn't fact. A group not winning "as much as usual" has nothing to do with how "good" they are. It's all extremely subjective, based on the judges that specific day.

These are high schoolers you're insulting. Just think about that as you keep posting. Please.
This is super accurate. Remember last years Show Choir Nationals in Nashville? Everyone had predicted CG or Hastings to pull it out, but Glenwood came out of nowhere and took it!

Show Choir has an interesting dynamic in that any one group can beat any other group on any given day, it just depends on the opinions and thoughts of the judges. It is both a blessing and a curse, and definitely somethng that makes the thing we love unique.

Mixed tier 2 is small mixed.

It wasn't up earlier, I added it after he posted and then was being snarky.

Some of the groups had never been added to the database before, so that's why the division was delayed. Everything's all caught up now.

Woooow..... I find it funny that when someone tries to tell the truth they get hated on but if I would've posted some bull than everyone would have agreed with it! That's screwed up!

Truth is backed up by facts and research. Opinion is backed up by subjective emotion. Yet, many seem to believe that their opinion is truth.

I think Häakon made it very clear that he wasn't "hating" on you. There is a long history of support and respect in this community, and it saddens many people to see this display of negative behavior. One unspoken rule of this site is to remain lax and tact while also disdaining from using profanities. There are over 30,000 registered members of this site, and any of them can see this post made by you. Over 120 of those members are from Lawrence Central. You can speak your mind using cleaner language and tone. Please remain respectful.

It's not an opinion it's a fact, but we will see when the time comes. I'll will be very surprised if Central Sound can make into the top 5 and even if they do they'll probably cheat to get there.

I am supportive of members being able to speak their opinions here - even when they have something critical to say - as no performance is perfect and there are always things that can be learned. We all have our opinions and as there are thousands of different show choirs across the country we are bound to disagree from time to time on things we prefer. There is a difference, however, between expressing a personal preference and saying that a group will "probably cheat" to get a certain placement. In my opinion, that is crossing the line and I kindly ask that you show some more respect to your fellow choir peers. Also, you can't say something is "fact" that hasn't even happened yet, so let's chill a little bit and try to be more productive. There is nothing that says you have to like a particular group, but a bit more tact would be appreciated when you post.

4th at state is not good? oh and they were runner-ups here last year. As an alumn I am biased however, don't count them out. Good is always relative as well. Heard them sing already this year and they're back to the CS I knew and loved at least vocally. Knew choreographer as well much improved visual.

Shall be a very interesting comp.

MZ, CG, LC, Pike, Whiteland shall be top four in no particular order though I would argue MX & CG will be top two.

4th a state is terrible yet you put groups that were beat by LC ahead of them? Interesting logic. Very interesting.

In my opinion 4th in state is terrible! I'm not trying to be a douche but Central Sound is no longer good, and I'm glad they do have a new choreographer because the last one they had wasn't doing his/her job. Hopefully this new one comes with a fresh new take for them. Like I said before THEY WILL NOT PLACE.
