Shoutout to Lakeland - their bus to DeKalb was involved in that 20 car pileup on I-69 and they ended up unable to make it to the competition. Everyone was fine, but the truck pulling their trailer was also in the pileup, and the bus was pretty damaged as well.

A few thoughts from today:

First of all, a HUGE congratulations to my Alma Matter BD Summit Sound! You guys killed it today and performed like champions. It paid off!

Second, I'd just like to gush about my other favorite choir Waubonsie Valley Sound Check who never cease to be UNBELIEVABLE. Watching your show literally made me giggle with glee. Congrats!

Third, Twinsburg: I love your show! So much fun. Lanoue is a master of the all-around experience.

One last note: I must say I have no idea why Fairfield Fusion missed Finals. Their vocals were incredible throughout, especially in the remarkable ballad. Hold your heads high. I believe the best is yet to come for you.

All in all thank you DeKalb Show Choirs for another successful, well-run, and exciting competition. It's always a pleasure to return!

Best Female Soloist from WV is Liza Mahacek. Just FYI - she's a freshman.

Night show order? I heard Dwenger Summit Sound made the night show!

Correct, they did. Finalists are posted above in order of performance.

Dekalb also said one of the 6 Varsity finalists went home due to weather and was replaced with the seventh place group. I'm guessing this might have been Columbia City that left early?

The Dekalb SCI Twitter is giving great updates. It seems like the competition is running on time for the most part. Middle school results are also posted.

They also mentioned there was a 20-car accident near Dekalb. The weather in Northern Indiana must be awful. At least everyone here is inside enjoying some great show choir!

After seeing the list of choirs attending, I think this one comes down to a Twinsburg/WV match up.

Not sure who will win it, but I think captions will be

Vocals/Band: WV
Choreo/Show design: Twinsburg

Good luck this weekend!
