I think the concert choir competition was one of the best they have had. Maybe the only better one was 2004. Sioux City East and Fort Dodge would've helped, but the overall quality of the choirs last night was incredible. I have attended this competition every year since it started, and this is the most prepared I've ever heard these concert choirs. Congratulations to all!

Section awards were as follows:

Best Soprano: Altoona
Best Alto: La Crosse Central Robed Choir
Best Tenor: Totino-Grace
Best Bass: G-E-T High School

Fort Dodge, IA dropped out of the concert choir competition - and they kept the schedule the exact same with just breaks during those groups. Right now we are on a 2 hour break.

With these groups unable to make, is there going to be a change in the schedule??

Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, Sioux City will not be able to attend as planned this year

That sucks! Three years ago, we had to cancel on your competition because of weather. What a rough way to start the year! But, at least you still have your whole season in front of you.

dearest julio: last year at johnston Riverside placed 3rd RU and Mt. Zion didn't make finals....that's only the second time we've ever competed against them. 1st time was in 2008 at ona when we lost to them as 3rd RU when they were 1st RU. So it should be interesting! EEK! thanks for the well wishes everyone!!!!

They were actually 2nd RU, after WW and EEE, so they beat us out by one spot that year.

Stephen Todd is very much the definition of awesome. In a dictionary, it would say:
See also real, honest, motivational, inspiring, talented, all around great person!
He helped me achieve things by not letting me slack and he always gave it to me straight. He is definitely on my top five list for people I look up too!!
Dawhkob!! Gooood luck!!!
4 DAYS!!! AH!

Don't forget funny!!!! He made U Singers bearable lol.

yeah i had no idea we had competed against mt.zion way back then even though i have had siblings in it since like 1999. i'm surprised we did that well way back then even if we did lose to them by one place.....cool! even though im probably not as enthsiastic as others about weaver choreo, i MUST agree that the headliners are AWESOME. but it's unfortunately true like they said, anything can happen! :/ and i give them props for their "out-of-the-box" show (lol EVERYONE calls it that)

i'm not surprised. I hosted y'all at Mo-Show that year. freaking LOVED that show!
