Hey, Iowa City West.

I don't really know how to put this into words. But, I guess the easiest way to get my point across is by saying "thank you". I don't really know if that even begins to cover it, but your show this year deserves all of the thanks in the world from audiences.

I only saw the show over live feed and yet I was moved more than almost any show I have seen in person. The moment at the end of the song before the ballad and the begging of the ballad... I, just... Again, no words. It was beyond fantastic.

I really wanted to make smart, coherent, meaningful post on here about your show, but I just can not find the words.

So, again, thank you. I will never forget this show.

I took a pic of this and tweeted it to the West kids! Thank you for taking the time to post this! We appreciate your kind words!

wow, yesterday was so much fun! i had the pleasure of enjoying every. single. group. starting at 7:45 am. everyone should be very proud about the work they put in.

my favorite part of the day was sitting next to a young man from cedar rapids kennedy during finals. i can't remember his name because i'm a horrible human being. he spoke about how great show choir is, and more so show choir competitions because you are no longer a 'show choir kid' and you just become a person surrounded by people who accept you and love the same things. he also was super funny and kind. it was a very fun time sitting next to him.

as for how my boyfriend enjoyed his day? he's a trooper. he agreed to stay until results. it was fun seeing him try to understand how any of it works. his favorite show was probably Cedar Rapids Kennedy, not only because of how incredible they are but also because jack. sparrow.

this competition was smoothly run by incredibly kind volunteers. i thank you so much for your hard work. we are all so appreciative.

i am very proud of my cousin in totino grace, and all of her adorable friends. y'all did so wonderful and should be proud of what you did on that stage. also, i still need the steps to achieve totino hair.

waconia. you left it all on that stage. you had so much passion. i am. so proud. of you. you kicked it up in finals. i'm honored to have come from the same program as you all.

This was such an amazing competition. Thank you to Bloomington Kennedy for making this amazing. It was soooooo tight in prelims, only 14 points seperating the top 5 groups. That made for an outstanding finals. Congrats to all groups who performed yesterday (:

Shoutout to RIG, for making Poco wristbands to wear in honor of our friend, Jack Pogatchnik. Such a small but powerful gesture. You make us all feel so welcome at BK. Love you all!

Wow, thank you so much for sharing this tidbit! The show choir community is simply outstanding. Gestures like this and then sharing those stories really make a big impact.

From our show choir family to yours, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all who came, participated, volunteered, watched from afar, and enjoyed their time at Bloomington Gold today! We couldn't be more happy to have had 18 awesome choirs, and we hope you had as fun of a time as we did. If you have any feedback (positive or constructive criticism) please message me and we can make changes for next year!

Congratulations to all of our choirs for a phenomenal day, and we can't wait to see you all next year on January 30th, 2016!

Idk... I just hoped that my postings had come off as comical and I'm sorry if that was not the way it came across.

I don't think anyone took offense. Live streams (two words, by the way, unless someone is actually broadcasting with the company "Livestream" - sorta like the kleenex/xerox thing) can be difficult to pull off and it's easy for the end user to forget that it's a free service being provided as a convenience. I'm not talking about you in particular, just the general public that's watching. We live in a crazy age where we can basically do anything we want from a device that fits in the palm of our hands, and people have high expectations as a result.

The good thing is that we can actually do all of this stuff; the bad side is that especially when it comes to schools and arts budgets and parents trying to figure stuff out on a whim and etc. etc., it doesn't always work the way we want. And you made a great point about when they don't work, you never really know if it's on your side or theirs, and if they're aware of it or not... and that can be frustrating. That's why I also remarked that it's also really nice when the stream organizers show who is performing/up next so as a viewer that might be popping in at a random time, we know what's going on, if it's running on time, etc. But then again, at least we have the luxury of something at all.

Ok... So I was just told by my sister that I need to calm down about the livestreams.
I'm sorry if my postings seemed like I was frustrated or freaking out because that was not my intention at all.

I have absolutely nothing against the livestream at this competition. I meant what I said earlier in that this livestream had the best sound and visual quality of any I have seen before. It was amazing! Thank you to all who worked so hard on it today.

I just have had experiences in the past with watching other competitions that helped me understand what some people were going through when it cut out happiness in the prelims.

When you are a watcher and the livestream cuts out you automatically want to fix the problem but often there is no way to contact the people running the stream so there are only two options for the viewer. You can either refresh the page over and over or you can make a posting somewhere (like on this site) asking if what you are seeing is what others are seeing too. It has nothing to do with impatience, it is just clarifying that it is not a problem with just your computer.

I believe livestreams are the best use of technology at these competitions. Without it I would never be able to see half the groups I do and it makes me feel like I'm right there in the moment without leaving my couch.

Idk... I just hoped that my postings had come off as comical and I'm sorry if that was not the way it came across.

For those who are wondering why Waconia was chanting "Jack" it is because we lost an amazing guy from our senior class yesterday. We dedicated our performance to him. This article explains more about Jack Pogochnik's story: kstp.com/article/stories/s3693410.shtml
