I know that southeast Polk will be attending the Urbandale invitational. If you have not heard southeast Polk yet I in courage you to see it. Thomas hales is our new director and he is the very reason our group has grown to the close nit family of performers that we are. Thomas hales has inspired me to sing better and to also in courage others to sing as well. He is one of the best choir teachers I've ever had the honor of meeting, and I wouldn't trade him for any other show choir teacher in the country.
1. This isn't cool to say about Sioux City
2. Even if that was the case, they just lost BV at competition of far lesser difficulty, I have a hard time believing that they will all-of-a-sudden be competitive with THE Waukee Sound here, if they couldn't swing it @ Roosevelt
3. Watch what you say on this site…it becomes clearer with every post that your affiliation is probably not with AHST

1) I had friends that went to Roosevelt that day and I was asking them how the competition went and they said that Mitchell deserved a clean sweep and they were very surprised that East took vocals. I personally was not there and I have no idea how their vocals were. I simply said that Sioux City getting best vocals was shocking because none of my friends (all show choir lovers and supporters) thought that would happen. I wasn't dissing Sioux City East at all actually. I was simply reporting what I heard so don't get all offensive.
2) My loose understanding of what you just said is that Roosevelt wasn't a competitive competition and Mitchell has never had outstanding vocals. Now you're offending Roosevelt who had a very competitive competition obviously and Mitchell year-in and year-out has some of the best vocals in the country so I don't know what you are trying to say.
3) I've never said anything to destroy a group or hurt their feelings. I'm a conversation starter-- the point of this website.
Sioux City getting best vocals was shocking to most.

Just because they didn't get best vocals at roosevelt this weekend doesn't mean their vocals aren't amazing. They always have some of the best vocals in the midwest and they are normally hard to beat. From what I heard, Sioux City getting best vocals was shocking to most.
I would agree. Mitchell probably should have had vocals at Roosevelt, because their sound was out of this world, but hey, that's show choir! It's subjective.
GC: Waukee (BV)
1RU: Ankeny Centennial (BB)
2RU: Mitchell (BC)
3RU: Valley
4RU: Ankeny
5RU: Southeast Polk
Practically, this could go a lot of different ways. I could definitely see Valley jumping over Mitchell, while I could also see Mitchell jumping over Ankeny Centennial.
Personally, I love Valley's band a lot, but the judges typically seem not to agree to the same extent.
Mitchell is going to need to make major improvements to their vocals in order to take the cake here. We've got some of the best groups vocally in the country at this competition. Their choreo is some of the finest in the country, they just need to deliver vocals that match (which something they totally CAN do)
I'm really excited for SE Polk. I've heard their program has made major improvements this year and it'd be awesome to see them final at this type of competition.

That makes me happy! I feel like they are very underrated!
Agreed. The split that occurred was difficult for all, but it really took a hit on Ankeny HS. Their director went to the new high school and a majority of the students did as well due to the new boundaries created for the district. Ankeny HS essentially had to start over in 2014- new director, choreographer, arrangers, etc. etc. etc. They had a admirable season for the many challenges they faced and I'd say that they certainly won't disappoint in 2015. Their show is filled with FANTASTIC music, creative & fresh choreography, and they are singing like the Ankeny of yesteryear. I can't wait to see their season unfold- they truly are such a deserving group.
Ankeny "Visual Adrenaline" has a fantastic show this year! They've been working so very hard and I really feel that people will be very happy with what they have to offer.
