OKAY, MY PEEPS! Prepare yourselves for another one of Michael's novels:
* This weekend was AWESOME! I had such a great time- the hosts were awesome, and all of the support from LC, Dekalb, Pike, and everone else was amazing

*To L.C~ I honestly love you guys. After you left, I almost started bawling like a little idiot. I will cherish the Barbie forever and always, and I'm sure I'll see you folks soon

*To Carroll~ Awesome job! Thanks for being so kind and classy- See you all next year!

*To the Toxic people~ I LOVED your dance! Sure, it was a little dirty, but that's never hurt anyone ;) . P.S. The tan one with the parted hair was HOTT!!!

Well, I guess I'm gonna have to cut this short . Thanks to everyone- the hosts, too!!!

~ Your Uptown Boy,
Michael Warrell

Hey mysti chic,
Thanks, I'm glad you liked toxic, I had an amazing time performing it.

As for the only person who thinks it's trashy - I admit it is kind of sexual, but that's because it is a sexual song, and it is a very popular song known by probably almost all of your students. If you thought this was trashy you should take a look at the music video for the song and you will see that Britney Spears' portrayal of the song is much more scandalous than our dance to it. I think it was done in a very tasteful way and the moves that weren't so tasteful were removed from the performance on Saturday night. Although you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine, it's very rude to criticize us of being what we aren't. And I guess the reason I am getting upset about this is because I don't think you understand how hard we work at doing what we do and how much we love to entertain and express our creativity and talent. By calling it terrible (not to mention with a capital "T" and 6 exclamation points), as well as distasteful and trashy, you are also showing disrespect towards our choreographer. Kristin Pagan is one of the most amazing choregraphers ever and if you could see the passion and hard work she puts into everything she does, you would think twice before bashing one of her pieces of art. And that is exactly what this is all about - a form of art. That's what one of the main purposes of our competition was, to showcase the art of different show choirs, soloists and other performers. And to bash our dance by expressing your negative opinion seems unfair to me as you can see. But again, that's my opinion and I have expressed it just like you have.

I had so much fun Saturday! WOOT! I made so many friends! Congrats to Teays, I was so excited for you!

SHOUT OUTS!!!!

Teays - Dempsey (Did you hear the "Dempsey horn"?), Matt (I love your solo), and Michael (Congrats on all your awards Michael! You're so talented! ) Oh...to the soloist in "Mr. Pinstripe Suit"...you are awesome! I didn't get a chance to meet you! Oh...quick story...My friend George and I tried to do that crazy lift in your opener where the girls fly magically into the guys arms without looking. I ended up falling flat on my butt. I knew it would happen! Made everyone in the room laugh, though!

LC - Landon, and all the people I talked to whose names I didn't catch. It was fun standing on the chairs with you guys! We love Teays!

Homestead - Brett, Tom, and Andy! I love you guys! It's good to know the emcees! Matt...Toxic was so sexy! WOOT!

Churubusco - Clayton!!!! You crack me up! Good dancin, bud. You're facials on "Me Neither" were killer! I loved your show! Very entertaining!

You guys, IM me, or PM me, or something! Good times, good times!

First of all let me congratulate all of the choirs from Sat. competiton this was a close one for the top spots!!

I was very impressed by Teays Valley - the Chor. was awesome - especially the lifts. I don't know many groups where everyone on the stage does the lifts - great job!

I am incredibly proud of my groups for their efforts all year - thanks for a great season!!!!

Also I am very proud of Churubusco - you guys have come a long way. All the hurdles and you still prevail - "good work"!

Ok as for the whole toxic dance - Terrible!!!!!! It was distastful to say the least! Why so trashy???? blushing.gif pinch.gif

Overall Homestead = Great Competition!!

Congrats to Teays and Carroll I thought both groups put on excellent shows last night. Busco also had a mazing show! I saw the best of the season from several groups last night! I had a blast MC-ing in the solo room, and I hope everyone else had a great time. I know for a lot of groups it was the last competition of the season, I only hope you all made the most of it and had a blast. As a senior, It was a wonderful end to four years of my life and highly unforgettable. If there was anything you would change or have any positive feedback, please dont hesitate post or contact the school. We love having all of you and hope you will return next year.

On a different note, does anyone know why people thought the toxic dance was inappropriate? We will be competing with it in May, and I was just wondering.

con mucho amor,
Kim
