I almost didn't write in about the incident, but since others have I will add my comments about it.
First of all, it was an unfortunate incident that did not "ruin" the stage. The kid made a hole in a wall on the side of the stage..by accident. True, he was horsing around and that should not have happened. But, everyone had begged him to do this funny thing he does..he didn't want to do it but the crowd kept after him. I bet he wishes he could turn back that clock. As soon as he realized what had happened he immediately went back on stage and Floyd didn't realize that. Also, his Director immediately went up there too.
That Floyd person was understandably upset and over reacted to the situation. Some of the parents in the audience became angry about the way Floyd was talking to the student and stood up and told him to quit. I know that Dad that did that was not from the same school that kid was from. Anyway, NOONE thought this was funny EVER! It was a shame!
The student will be responsible for fixing the damaged wall. I know the other school will make certain that happens. Also, all day long the atmosphere inside that auditorium was out of control. I have never been to a contest where at any time were over a hundred kids on a stage dancing. The music was so loud, kids were screaming and jumping all over the place. It was like a circus. Suprisingly, nothing else happened in that hyped up atmosphere. I am not saying that to take away any of the mistake that happened.
Hats off the class the Shelbyville Principal had and students of Shelbyville. That Principal was awesome!!! He made an uncomfortable situation better.

Shelbyville was definitely an awesome competition. Congratulations to Center Grove! Your show was awesome. I really loved the opener costumes; i can just imagine how awesome it would be to perform in them. I loved the feather fans and the tiaras and stuff. I also enjoyed your tap number. I am a tapper and its really cool how so many people in your group are capable of all of the difficult moves you guys incorperated. That was awesome! Your Grand Championship was definitely deserved.

Also thanks to Shelbyville... You guys were great hosts.

Congratulations to all winners!

ok mike for one its none of ur buisiness to ask what happened to him...they clapped cause it was funny...they didnt know he damged anything...but i understand what ur saying too...but he also handled himslef very profesionally and he did a good job with taking responsibility...but everything will be fine with him..and yes the guy shouldnt have called the kid names but u gotta understnad that he was very mad..and i know u would be too..but the kid wasnt trying to damage anything on purpose...he was being pressured into it by everyone and he did it for fun and luaghs so please leats get off this subject!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO! not to be disrespectful if anyone from shelbyville is mad that kid put a hole in your stage, but that guy about made me wet my pants... It was kinda obvious the "schmuck" was just trying to get a laugh and not trying to damage anything so Im glad it didnt effect the outcome of the comptetion.... And in my opinion, the willy nelson guy went a little too far by calling that guy a schmuck, although i can understand his frustration " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" />

Hey! Congrats to all choirs who performed at Shelbyville! I had so much fun watching...and hosting! Just a shout out to the Debtones...they were an awesome group to host!(and thx for helping clean up the room too! )

So...what did everyone think of Soundwave's performance(the Shelbyville girls group)? I think we did good, except for when I almost fell, but that's alright!

Personally I thought Northrop should have been ahead of Laporte, definately a more interesting show and they sang better(opinion only). Diction was clear and crisp and better intonation. Fun show to watch! Congratulations to Center Grove, you were great!

CG did come in second at Glen Este, but they were performing a different show in the fall.  I believe they have changed everything but the ballad.  Congrats to CG, they are really on a roll this year!

then there arent undefeated that was still in this competition season, but good job to CG they are well deserved of their GC

Laport was really good. Infact, I thought they could easily beat Sullivan. Vocally, they were much stronger. Their show isn't full of the "flash" like Sullivans, but it's a good solid show and performed well, leaps above Northrop.
I have an observation....isn't it time for the Sullivan girls to move past the 80's look? They look like models gone wild....Some of the makeup, visablly noticable from anywhere in the auditorium is way too much.....Just a suggestion.
Congrats!! to everyone.

Sound System's Director is Christopher Pratt one of CG's parents told me he was 25 and a grad of Ball State... was in Univerity Singers and all that jazz. I love what he is doing with them! I have never heard or seen CGSS to this level before!

All I can say is Center Grove was absolutely amazing tonight. The entire crowd was on its feet at the end and after their ballad it was clear who would win. Their POLKA song cracks me up!

Shelbyville, thanks for hosting... it was a a lot of fun!
