Well, i don't think that we were asking about his hugging skills . So next time keep it to yourself. He wasn't that good, if i may say so myself.

" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Well pardon me.

I agree w/ the best male soloist. I heard him at P. Hill's invitational and he was very good. He is a very talented male singer!!!!

I am from showstopers and Southern Gentlemen and I was wondering about the best male soloist. What choir is he in? I didn't get a chance to hear it and I am kinda interested. Oh and like another south kid said earlier, we will be at the upcoming Nevada competition so if any choirs are going post and let me know!!!!

I heard the results yesterday and it sounds like two out of the five judges ruined it for Mt. Zion.  Mt. Zion recieved 1,1,1,3,and 3.  Sullivan received 1,1,2,2,and 2.  Mt. Zion should never have received anything lower than 2nd at that competition.  I mean they won 3 out of the 5 judges, the majority of them.  So it sounded to me like two judges gave Sullivan the win.

Just my opinion.

Sorry for the double post, I havent figured out how to do 2 quotes in one post. Just to clear something up. The 2 judges that gave Mt Zion 3rd, gave us 2nd. I dont believe you have seen our show, and Im not trying to say we are better than Mt Zion by any means. I just think we deserve to be recognized. :-D

We are thrilled to even be compared to groups like these. I know we arent well known, but we can definately hold our own. I find it very flattering that we were able to entertain groups such as Sullivan.

I don't believe Sully needs to go to show choir 101 just because we do it different than everyone else.....We have our own thing going on.............I think show choir is all about diversity...that makes it interesting...I appreciate all the different types of show choirs.........I don't think we need to knock anyone just because they don't do it they way ONE PERSON thinks they should..............BTW.............I LOVED PLEASANT HILL!!!They were different than us and different than MTZ...........but they did their show awesome!!!!!!!!! and they are a bunch of sweethearts!!!!  GOOD JOB GUYS.........YOU WERE MY FAV OF THE DAY!

WOW! I really appreciate that! We try to have a diverse show, and we really think we pulled it off this year. Im very pleased to hear that you enjoyed it! I talked to a couple of your parents, and they were very nice. I also came in your room with another guy just to say hi. We were glad to be able to compete with you all. Congrats on your win, and keep up the good work!

But by that theory....maybe the group that placed third overall was robbed and Mt. Zion should have actually gotten second? I don't necessarily agree with that...but you see how pointless it is to speculate.

The reality is, no group is flawless...no group is unbeatable....no group is untouchable. It doesn't matter who's involved...Onalaska...Mt. Zion...De Kalb...Sullivan...Center Grove...Clinton...whoever. You could substitute any group from Sullivan at this competition...and if they won over Mt. Zion...we'd have the same people on here complaining about it...and the truth us...not everyone can always be pleased. That's show choir.

Again, kudos to both groups! They were both fabulous...and I'm sure it was an extremely tough decision to make. No group at Troy has ANY reason to walk out with their heads to the ground...no matter what people who aren't even involved say. People got to see two of the best show choirs in Illinois...or in the nation go at it....as well as the top groups of Missouri. Excellent, excellent competition.

Perhaps I rambled a bit long...but it really upsets me when I hear anyone say anyone else 'handed' or 'gave' the competition to someone else.

And that, is just my opinion.

I'm from Sullivan and I am so proud of what we did this past weekend!!!!!! After MTZ'S COMP, I know everyone was very dissappointed in us, especially US!!!! We were'nt working as a team or as a show choir........After that we decided we were gonna cut the crap and work our butts off.............I know we are'nt 100% but hopefully, we will b soon......We never thought in a million years we were going to beat MTZ.....They are our favorite group EVER......Their energy and choreography is absolutely outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE MTZ AND TOTALLY RESPECT WHAT THEY DO!! Congrats to everyone!!!!! and see you all soon!

After reading this entire thread, I have question. It may be a rhetorical question but I'll pose it nonetheless. The question is: Can Mt. Zion ever do anything right?

When they win, many people complain that they should not have won. That politics played a part in them winning. That they don't sing well. That there was questionable scoring.

When they don't get Grand Champions, people say that they were robbed.

I'm confused, which is it?

Of course, I am not serious and hopefully my humor was not lost on everyone. I just find it interesting that Mt. Zion is much maligned and much lauded all at the same time.

I'll be very honest and say that I love Mt. Zion and have for years. I am happy when they win but am equally happy when the end up 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. I am happy because they entertain me and make me smile. They are fun to watch AND listen to.

Swingsations, keep up the decades of excellence. People are going to criticize you and emulate you simultaneously. And that's just part of being a powerhouse. But in the end show choir is just like sports, any given Saturday any group can win.

okay so past all the drama of pizzazz and newscore, i have to say troy's food kicked some major ass. i mean wow. i definatly was pleased. and to be served swiftly and with a smile? hmmm... our lunch ladies are nice, but the powdered potatoes and the questionable chicken just don't do anything for me here in st. louis. so, thank you troy. i had the biggest and fullest stomach yesterday. oh. and great job everyone! but the food, i mean... great. mmm.

btw- renegade? awesome. im always amazed... im just sad this is my last year!

i was definatly impressed with everyone there. except for that girl that fell during pizzazz's set. i mean come on. u ruined it for all of us. wait. that was me. hum oh well.

my icon looks constipated!
