I loved the theme and the enthusiastic behavior! Even though you guys knew things would go wrong you still did a great job! I liked the girl's dresses and the whole 'grease' thing! " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> It's a great movie and a great show!

Good Luck this year!

GoD bLESS!

FYI: Center Grove also got "Best Show"
Does anyone know who got Best Band?

definitely not us - lakeland -

ok, to explain for our crappy performance...

our drummer didn't show and so we had to ask a singer's brother to play...he had five minutes to pull something together...

and, none of our TINY band was there.

god help us.
y'all rocked.

Churubusco was a great contest, fun times had by all.

Center Grove "Debtones": Girl's Grand Champions (exhibition performance): Good show by my favorite girl's group. The whole deal with the cheerleader stuff was so original and entertaining. The ballad sounded great.

DeKalb "Classic Connection": The show started out great, and very energetic. I was kind of shocked in regards to the vocals, it was no where near the quality I usually hear from DeKalb, especially the girls. I'm still not a fan of the novelty number, but I guess there's nothing you can do about it now. I also wasn't big on the orange and blue costumes, major clashing. The closer was strong though, good job.

Lakeview "Spartanaires": The "Time/Dust in the Wind" thing was a little funky, and way too slow for a non-ballad piece. The ballad soloists were great, but the girl really needs to sing out. She has a great voice, I'd just like to hear it better. You guys also had orange and blue costumes like DeKalb...am I the only one that thinks this doesn't look right? The band sounded great, and "Fortune Favors the Brave" sounded cool. The choreography was really cool too, congratulations on making finals.

Center Grove "CG Sound System": Wow is all I can say. I posted in another forum that I didn't think Center Grove would be able to even make it in the top three, but after seeing your show, I was dumbfounded. I loved how everyone on stage appeared to be having a blast...no fake smiles or anything, everyone was genuinely having a great time performing, and it reflected in the audience. The ballad sounded amazing. I really liked at the end when everyone came up to the front of the stage platform and interacted with the audience members in the front  row. You've clearly proven yourselves to be the powerhouse group of Indiana. Can't wait to see you at Triton Central, and much congratulations on a very, very well-deserved grand championship.

Northrop "Charisma 2004": The same comments apply from Piqua, I was kind of upset to see very little improvement from last week. I still LOVE the opener though  . I also noticed a girl who was singing really loud and sticking out above everyone else during the whole show. I THINK she was the second soloist on "It's Rainin' Men" but I'm not sure.

Homestead "Class Royale": A little departure from a typical Homestead show. It seems to have a little bit more of a classier "Huntington North" styled show. The ballad sounded really good until the director left, then the band was overpowering and a lot of sound was lost. I can't read what I wrote about the closer, but I remember it wasn't bad. Good show, and good luck this year.

Just for the record...this is the first time in over four years of being involved in show choir contests that I predicted the finalists and captions exactly correct  .

Homestead's Class Royale got Best Band

I think the video company had their own microphones they used (they were the two silver mics in the middle), so that's why the sound was better. But yeah, the sound system in the gym was horrible. I was in the second row and I couldn't hear the MC or soloists at all, but it was fine when the whole choir was singing (obviously).

I wasn't a big fan of the lighting either, some lights kept coming on and off during performances, and they were shining on the audience on the floor a little too much.

I did notice the stage area was small, but guys, you GOTTA get used to that real soon. 95% of the time when you perform in a gym, the dimensions of the temporary stage are going to be kind of small and disproportionate.

Although the host school's reception was warm, there were a few details that needed some attemtion - the small stage area and poor sound system. DeKalb's risers barely fit on the stage due to the small size and one of the mixed groups couldn't use their steps on one side of the risers - they wouldn't fit. I felt badly for the first couple of girls groups in the morning - the sound system wasn't working properly and the judges and audience didn't get to hear the groups well. Wonder if that effected the judge's comments and scores for those groups? Interesting note - the sound was fine on the tapes when watching outside - their mikes picked everything up and recorded it.

I think we all did a great job! I'm really happy we made finals, we've been working hard for a come back and we finally got it. I like Columbia City too, but the season has only just started. I wish you Columbia City-ans luck on your upcoming competitions that you may make finals there!! Even if we didn't make finals at Churubusco, I'm just happy we all performed our best and had a great time. Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season!!

I posted Thursday after a friend and I went to Center Grove to see the debut of their contest show. When we left there, we were pretty amazed. I decied to change some plans and go up andwatch the competition at busco cause I wanted to see Dekalb too.

I really liked Dekalb's energy. It was a fun how, even though I really liked last year's show better. However, I just think Center Grove was incredible... better than when I saw them on Thursday. THe guys number i hilarrious and i can't believe you all play the acordians! And the tap number... wow! You deserved Best Choreo, Show and Vocals! Can't wait to see you at Pike!

Thanks for the comments from anyone who had anything to say about Northrop, I'm really happy to hear that everyone was enjoying our show yesterday night it was a lot of fun to get back up on stage and do it again, but of course it always is.

I really got to see a variety of groups. I love Homestead's show it was really great, and the girls outs are so cute when they do the girls numbers I want one really bad. The guy who did the solo was also great he was doing a really great job at his song. The girl in the womens song was singing her little heart out and having a fun time on stage which was cool. I really love the guys shoes!!!

I never saw Dekalb's show yesterday but I am sure it's just as awesome as it was at our competiton (northrop's) if not better.

Churubusco God I love you guys so much and our man host was a total hottie, but that's besides the point, you guys really put on an awesome show it was really a lot of fun to watch and the girls did you guys buy those khakis at a department store because I would also like a pair of those, they are cute so if you did can you let me know which one? Great show it's a lot of fun to watch, and your director is really cool for letting you guys have fun and be relaxed on stage, and I especially love it when he comes out and is in the blue jeans and black shirt to director the guys that's cool.

Center Grove I never got to see your guys show, but my dad and g-ma told me that it was definetly a good show sorry I missed it we just seemed to perform back to back with eachother so we never got to see it. I hope you guys had a fun time because from what I heard you deserved your first place grand champion. Congratulations.

Lakeview you guys had a really good show I really enjoyed it. You guys were alos a lot of fun to cheer with and sit beside, Congratulations I hope you guys had a lot of fun, you really had a good show from what I heard from my dad and g-ma.

I hope everyone had fun I know I did, and it was nice to see a lot of the choirs that we will perform against during the year.

Oh yea Columbia City I saw you guys as well and you guys were so cool, and I definately loved your show I was sure you guys had a bid in for Night show, and then when they didn't announce you guys I was kinda sad, I wanted you guys to come with us, but it was a lot of fun to watch you guys since I didn't get to see you at our Competition I couldn't have enjoyed it more. It was a lot of fun.
