Right. I've gone through the discussion and Hastings people you are right, no one from Hastings has overtly been rude. I apologize, I must have been confused. I will edit my post.

However, several MG posts prompted me to point it out. Especially Connection11.

Hastings, my apologies.

I didn't see your show, but just looking at the placings you must have been good. It looks like you beat the group with the best female soloist, which is an accomplishment. Keep on going, and good luck the rest of the year. It's always nice to see more Wisconsin schools start show choir programs. That was referring to Janesville.

I wouldn't mind knowing what everybody thought of 4th Avenue Jazz Company from Iowa City. Jorge already posted a half-sentence review, but I'm really eager to hear what people think. Speak up!

What did everyone think of Janesville Spotlighters?

Hey, I'm also from OASC, and don't let certain people from our group give the impression that we're being cocky about making finals. We understand that a lot of people didn't think we should have made finals and that's fine with us. Everyone has different opinions. We're just really pumped about this season, with our new choreography and our new approach to our show. And we're really excited to see what everyone else is going to do with their shows. So, please dont think we're trying to be cocky or overconfident, we're just working our butts off to get better. Look forward to seeing everyone at Fort.

Later~ Lauren

I'm sorry to anyone who thought that my post was ment to be cocky.

What i was going for was that no one expected us to make finals at Milton. But, we did and it shocked many people. All I was getting was a negitive response to our show. I was just defending our ground. And this is one of our quotes that our director uses that i would like to share with everyone in the show choir world.

"Even if you are the best, you must always work to get better. Because one day you may be beaten, and damed if theyre not just down the street."

happy posting.

i find that more confidence than cocky, and i think he should make a point that we are not the so-so choir people have thought us to be in the past...

Why are all of you so suprised to see that we (OASC, Eau Claire) made it into finals?

I may have an answer or two to why you are scraching your heads in befuddlement.

1) We were one of the first non-prep groups to preform and that was before lunch(aprox 11am) so as a result, many of the people criticising or show didnt even see it. And if you didnt see it then, the only way you could have was at finals, where we were the last to go (aprox. 11pm).

2) This is a new OASC and were here to stay. If you dont like it, suck it up. We're not the so-so OASC anymore. We are in your league now, beating choirs were not "supposed" to beat(hastings, fort, MG).

3) Our show Rocks. Thats all there is to say.

We deserved to be in the finals, and thats the way it is.

Our next comp. is at Ft. Atkinson so dont be suprised to see us in Finals there and taking home a bigger trophy than on Sat.

Well I'm glad you're so confident, but be careful on how your posts sound cuz you don't want your school's reputation to lower by your posts you make. W/e, it came off as extremely cocky. But hey, maybe your show is awesome and you have a right to flaunt it. We're competing at Ft. Atkinson too, so see ya there!

he should be getting defensive, we have worked on our show very hard and i think that we do deserve it and obviously other people do too...

Just so everyone knows, it's true, Keith Curington was, indeed, the former Dav. North director, and he was a judge...but also, he gave us the lowest scores on the ballot out of all the judges!! *sigh* Gotta love Keith, but having him as our judge makes it harder for us.

Thanks for everyone who thinks we should've won! I'm not at all disappointed with 1st runner up. I hope everyone has a wonderful competition season.

I do not agree. Your show was not better than Hastings or Fort in my opinion. Davenport West will be at Fort also... we shall see what happens. Conrats though.

I'm pretty sure the GCS ballad was Long Winding Road/Bridge Over Troubled Water/Let It Be.  I'm sure they didn't sing Yesterday.

Okay... I thought let it be... but was not sure.

I'm glad that some people enjoyed Sauk Prairie's show. I personally enjoyed being in it. I enjoy the fact that our show is unique and that it really does make people really think and talk about our show. And even though we set out to entertain, one show will not entertain everyone. Everyone has different tastes wand will like different shows. I just love show choir, no matter how you define it. And I can't wait to see more shows next weekend in Monona Grove!

Bridge Over Trouble Water/Long Winding Road/Yesterday

I think those are the three... could be wrong on Yeserday though.

What was Grand Central Station's ballad again?

CR Jefferson- Nice show. As I have already told Chris I was disappointed to see "Forget About the Boy" in the show. I think it was done fine, but, the song is just not my taste... and I have seen so many choirs use desks for it. The end of the ballad was awesome! I thought "Too Darn Hott" was cool... I think I like North's better though! Good job overall guys!

GCS- Well... from seeing you at Onalaska I knew what I would see, but if I hd to pick one of the two performances I would have picked Onalaska. I thought the show went well a Milton, but the energy was rather low. The only real high point I saw in it was the energy in the ballad. Congrats on the win.

Iowa City High- I liked the show... I think it needs alot more energy. The band was great... and the violin on the ballad was breathtaking.

Eau Claire- I was not a fan of the show. I was for sure Fort or Hastings will take it over you... but it did not work that way. Congrats anyways!

Sauk Prarie- Did not see your show... but I did meet Mr. and Mrs. Culvers!

Davenport North- Holy Molly Guacamolly!!! I was so sure you would win! You guys rocked the house! I am so impressed with your show... everything was perfect! For the talent that you guys have though, I think you could use harder choreography. That is my only criticism. North, your vocals are great and the energy was superb! My 2 favorite song were "Vogue" and "Wild Wild Party". I was singing "Wild Wild Party" the rest of the day. I talked to Riewerts... and he was so proud. You guys rocked! I think you will do awesome this year! Keep up the impressive work!

As Josh has already said... I too was sad that Hastings and Fort did not make finals... I thought Hastings deserved it the most, and it was sad to see them not make it. I hope you clean house at Mo Show!
