Might as well turn this into a pic post for ppl too lazy to go to Mentor's site, lol

Watching a Ballgame... I'm the guy in the far right in a green/blue bathrobe

Quick, Everyone make a funny face!

Look at those snazzy armpits!

David's little, so we can lift him pretty high.

Other weird pics:

And the cool ripple, that looks like ****e in this pic -- we all look like we're gonna die:

Yeah, these pics are from finals, and I got them from Mentor's website, they still haven't posted prelim pics, but they're going to, and I'm sure those pics will be better considering we kicked ass in prelims, moreso than in finals. Also, there wasn't a pic of our third uniforms (dance feature ones, and guy feature shirts).

I'll post 'em when I get 'em.

No I'm pretty sure those were rank points, rather quality points, because I saw the same sheet too, and they were like two digit numbers, and Brush, Garfield, and Dover, had 0's by their name. And there was just one number, nothing was broken down, so you don't know what the points mean. Anyhoo, it's on at Brush ... but look at these pics of Euclid haha!

Ballad Shot:

End of Ballad Shot (poses into girl feature):

*poses* I'm on the very right, with my legs spread, weird pic of me I know ...

Weird Closer Shot:

I'm in the middle being sliced by the microphone lol.

Hmmm ... hehe, that's all for now, not the best pictures ... but oh well, they're up, and that's all that matters.

GrandChampion, I agree with you on that. It was a huge, HUGE surprise for us to actually win, since we felt as a group that prelims went a lot better (the girls rushed part of the ballad like mad in finals, and stupid choreography mistakes were made during our guys number). We all started freaking out when Euclid was named 2nd runner-up, and we realized that we might actually be taking home that Grand Champion trophy. Especially since I thought Euclid did really well. Oh, and Yuri (liked the flips by the way), we did get scored. Our director read the finals score sheet to us on the bus - I saw it. However, I didn't see Solon, so I couldn't tell you how we beat them (by 2 points, apparently). I think that this will give us renewed confidence in ourselves as a group. We have rehearsal tonight, and we are planning on putting the trophy in the front row of the auditorium to get us to work harder. We 're going to Brush next weekend, and don't think that we're gonna slack off just because we already won a huge trophy. We're already hungry for another one!!! But seriously, there is going to be huge competition there. Beavercreek, Solon, Euclid, Medina - we're really gonna have to bring it on. And we will!

Acutally, they are. We beat Solon by 2 points at nights (too close for comfort) and you by 16. (I think) Our combo director came on our bus and read them out, and then our director did the same thing. I'm at school right now, but I couldn't find the finals sheet for proof.

I don't know if we're scored on individual things again or just points, but there you go.

finals aren't scored, they just watch ur shows, and get together at the end and think who they think should be 1st 2nd or 3rd and so on. IT"S NO SCORES! just so everybody understands that!

Didn't compete. But you already knew that, didn't you?

GrandChampion -- I agree with you totally. But I do think that what Mentor did was very nice, considering no one was expecting the set to fall like that - and I still think Brush deserved placing ahead of Garfield, they were a little cleaner and better vocally in my opinion. And finals weren't scored, they were ranked, so therefore there were no points to be lost (with the set falling), or whatever.

Anyway, I was shocked at getting 2nd runner up, but overall, I'm content. 3rd place rocks, and so does the caption award Best Choreography, and hey, if the judges would have liked our theme, then we would have placed higher, but that's the gamble you take when you do shows like ours. And to Brandon -- I'm shocked at all the compliments we got, because I was sure someone was going to tell us how ugly our outfits were, lol. Heh, maybe they were being nice. Again, with Solon and their vocals. Man, hymnals should be done more often as ballads, because that was just downright gorgeous.

I'm so excited. Mentor was a great competition, and I made so many Mentor friends on Saturday. Much love to all -- everything ran smoothly, and great, and Mentor was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. show choir is life. hah, the end.

OMG, this was the best MFAI in 2 years, because no one knew what 2 expect, and it was tough and close competition.

I am so happy 4 Brush, especially since they got Mrs. Carey(btw- u other groups only know Brush compared to last year, and this year, ur in for a true treat/ watch out!) they were behind Garfield Hts., and came back and beat them!!!) and u guys r true winners, for going on with ur show. BIG PROPS go 2 u guys!!!!!

Solon- U WERE ORGASMIC- ur ballad was tearful and amazing especially with the a capella part, and the colored chords, and just a great and fun show!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS on BEST VOCALS(WELL WELL WELL DESERVED) BEST SHOW, and that tie with BEST CHOREOGRAPHY, i swear u guys r one of the OHIO POWERHOUSES this year!!!!!

Cuyahoga Falls- Ben, im sorry we didn't get 2 see the show at prelims or finals! but i heard u guys were great and so much better than last year! hopefully we can see u at Brush! BTW I love ur Show Concept!!!

Dover- Another group i didn't get 2 see both times but i heard u were so much better than last year! I think u guys give the most support, and CONGRATULATIONS on making Finals!

Garfield Hts.- U guys were great also. I didn't see u in Finals tho, but i like ur theme, and the way u put ur show together! Big Props to my girl Sarah, 4 her 2 falls, and still BEST PERFORMER for her school (I love u Sarah!!!!!) I'm still deciding if i like this year's show, or last! CONGRATULATIONS, on BEST COMBO- I knew it just sitting there, and i was in the front, so it was cool!!!

Euclid- Rocked at Prelims, coulda been better at finals vocally, but still got 2nd out of 11 schools in prelims, and BEST CHOREOGRAPHY(WOOHOO!!!!!), and then 2nd RUNNER UP in finals(not bad for 1st competition of the season), also another school to watch out 4 this year! I don't know y they didn't have Best Costume, cuz EVERYBODY kept saying, "omg i love ur costumes, omg, how did u do that, OMG, where did u get them from", lol, although Solon's was preetty Nice 2!

well everyone who was in finals, will be at Brush Saturday, I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!

**btw- to SOLON, CUYAHOGA FALLS, GARFIELD HTS., AND GROVE CITY,

WATCH OUT, we're coming to hunt u dowwwn!!!!!** (i still love u BEN FID!)

Aww... I wouldn't flame ya...

I haven't seen the tape of our finals, so I really don't know myself. Also, I didn't see Solon at all... one of my greatest regrets (that and Brush.)

We just got a renewed energy from making nights for the first time (for any of us anyways) and were just happy to be there.

Oh, and we added schwaas. To every. single. phrase. (ex: "That's Women's Woork-uh") It sounded ridiculous to us, but I guess someone liked it.

Again, we only beat Solon by 2 points. That's why I loved Mentor, it was sooo close!

Don't get me wrong but we had some points deducted for overall show, if we never had that accident we would've easily gotten 2ru! But we still beat GH, even withour Backdrop falling over!

What a crazy ending to an incredible day.

Okay, I'm probably going to ruffle some feathers, but since I don't belong to any of the groups that made finals, I'm going to tell you how I think it should have gone down.

If you ask me, those finals results were WHACKED OUT!

Here's how I think it should have turned out.

First off, either Euclid or Solon could have taken grand champion. They were both really solid.

Cuyahoga Falls had a really good show, but in my opinion did not perform as well in the evening as they did during the prelims. I don't want to offend anyone, but I don't see how they beat out Euclid and Solon for Grand Champ.

Next, in 3rd runner up, I would have to put Garfield Heights (although Brush was well on their way to securing this spot before the accident). They have some work to do, but their evening show was much better than their prelim performance.

Dover would be my 4th runner up.

Now we come to the tough one. Here's my thoughts on Brush's set accident. Let's face it. If a riser falls or the power goes out, it's the host school's fault and the clock should be stopped, allowing the group to continue. However, if your set falls over, it's on YOU. So, I think that their time should not have been stopped, and this would obviously have put them over time and hurt their score. I'm not hating on Brush. I would be saying this about mine or anyone's show choir. I just can't imagine how Dover and Garfield must feel to have lost to a group who's set fell over and crushed their pit. You'd have to be pretty awful to lose to that.

Try not to flame me too hard, okay?

Mentor, your show rocked!

Basically one of the trumpets got smashed because the backrop fell RIGHT on top of it! We also lost a few windchimes! and Mrs. Carey got hit in the arm! WE STILL LOVE YOU MRS. CAREY!!
