What I meant was their acapella..... I love their opener too(my new favorite song). Sorry I should have specified that I wanted to know about their who sings their acapella.

What happened in 2001 to grant no HOF inductees?

It's actually a combination of 3 songs:
"Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics
"Dreams" by Heart
"This Is Your Life" by ? (not sure)

Switchfoot sings " This Is Your Life"

Mr. Atienza- is it our votes here on SCC that officially decide the hall of fame? I noticed there was hall of fame inductees from like ten years ago, how did they vote then before SCC?

"When I created the HOF back in 1995, I only chose songs that made me and for the most part, the audience say "WOW"! For about 10 years I was the one who decided who made it in. Then with showchoir.com coming into popularity from 2000 and on... I started to ask for nominations from all of you! I would then take these and discuss them with The Main Attraction (the hosts of So Cal) and my staff. We would then pick ONLY those who we felt worthy of being inducted into our So Cal HOF."

Thank you to everyone who nominated Burroughs for the Hall of Fame! Thank you to Mr. Atienza and the staff and students of Main Attraction as well! It really was a great year and it was truely on of the greatest years of show choir that I have ever seen. Once again it really was: 2008... the year of the West Coast Show Choir. =]]]
congrats to everyone!!!

Grats!

In response to Elyse's query,
When I created the HOF back in 1995, I only chose songs that made me and for the most part, the audience say "WOW"! For about 10 years I was the one who decided who made it in. Then with showchoir.com coming into popularity from 2000 and on... I started to ask for nominations from all of you! I would then take these and discuss them with The Main Attraction (the hosts of So Cal) and my staff. We would then pick ONLY those who we felt worthy of being inducted into our So Cal HOF. We are very picky on who gets this honor, and this year we have put in more than we usually do. That just meant that 2008 was a GREAT year!

Criteria for HOF:
1) Must be performed at So Cal
2) Must have had to made us say "WOW" .....(An "OMG" is an automatic admission)

Here are the previous So Cal HOF Inductees!

Congrats to all! You are all now immortalized on all our programs from here on out!

I wish I would have met some of you Powerhouse people too.

The only person I really got to meet from Burroughs besides the organic Oundjian, the white-gloved Jennings, and the rest of the Burroughs staff, was amazing performer Ben. I ran into him like four times in the hotel and competition.

I need more Powerhouse in my life!

you didn't get plenty of powerhouse? if you were in our hotel we were probably loud and running through the hallways. lol. i assumed everyone in that hotel got plenty of powerhouse.
haha

Hey, just going to throw in my two cents, totally off-topic and a week late, but I don't get on this site very often and I probably won't be back until the end of comp. season next year, so I just gotta say....

Thank you Mr. Atienza for an amazing competition. I really had a great time. Sure, it ran late, but the venue was beautiful and everyone was on top form.

Burbank and Burroughs totally dominated, as usual, and you know what? I don't care. They deserve it. Way to go, you guys! Maybe next year we'll step it up and give you some really good competition. But you never know. I just keep on doing what I love, which is show choir.

I really love getting to see all the groups and meeting new people. I love hanging out with rival choirs as if we have been friends for years. I love competitions and I love show choir.

So I know this post comes out of nowhere and has nothing to do with what you guys are talking about, but I just wanted to say my piece and leave this site alone until next year.

Thank you everyone for bringing your individual and group talents to the board and sharing your passion for music and dance with everyone in this crazy community.

I amazed you didn't meet more Powerhouse people with how often you kept running out into the hotel hallway, almost letting my contraband dog escape each and every time.
