I feel like we will get a better feel as to how the Southern groups stack up after this weekend at Homewood and then at Petal.

I heard a rumor that Poca "Visual Volume" is attending. Is this true?

He is just stating that with the judges he thinks it is favorable to Los Al

Yeah I saw the judging panel too. It was a rhetorical/tongue-in-cheek comment.

Would you like to share anything with us? Seeing as neither Los Al nor John Burroughs has competed yet…

Ouch, that hurt a little.

All the event info has been updated above. This really should be an excellent SCN. Although it looks like there isn't a middle school division this year.

Again, no Ankeny?

I saw a video on youtube from their performance back at Gretna earlier in the season before it got deleted, and it honestly was a whole different show choir. Their vocals were very crisp, but they lacked in choreography. I'll have better knowledge of them after seeing them at Waconia this upcoming weekend though.

HOLY WOW.

Also, Stephen Todd is alive. I'm glad! No one I've heard from has been able to contact him...one of the nicest, most sincere people I've ever met.

Early predictions-

GC- John Burroughs (BC, BB)
1RU- Los Alamitos (BV)
2RU- Cedar Rapids Kennedy
3RU- Cedar Rapids Washington
4RU- South Jones
5RU- Ankeny

I haven't seen any of these groups yet as they are not on youtube (to my knowledge) and the only groups I will get a chance to see live are South Jones, Oak Grove, and Madison Central. My guess for captions is sure to go wrong. I'm hoping I get to attend, but as of now it's not looking like I'm going to be able to. I wish southern/midwestern folks had more opportunities to see California groups.

Based off of results and what I've heard, This is not the Ankeny "VA" everyone is used to. I could see them sneak into that 6th spot, I really don't know much of southern choirs.

Remember, Ankeny split this year so there are two Ankeny's.

Okay, this is going to be way off, but whatever.

Predictions:
GC: John Burroughs
1RU: Los Alamitos
2RU: Jenks
3RU: Decatur
4RU: Cedar Rapids Kennedy
5RU: Cedar Rapids Washington

I could also see South Jones, Ankeny, or Madison Central making it into finals as well.

*way too early predictions*

GC: John Burroughs
1st RU: Los Al
2nd RU: Cedar Rapids Washington
3rd RU: Cedar Rapids Kennedy
4th RU: South Jones
5th RU: Oak Grove

Has Ankeny fallen off the grid? Otherwise I'd probably have them in here somewhere.

Most of the time groups don't compete at both. That would cost way too much.

Thats what I figured! Gosh this is stacked... Fame might be a little lacking without some of these groups.
