I am in midwest show choir... we always have wondered, what is "Tier 1, 2, 3" mean?

Wow, I wasn't aware that Los Al wouldn't be attending SoCal. That seems strange.

They are going this year. It's marked on their calender.

I can't believe y'all are making us wait until Wheaton to find out what these set lists are!! I do however find it very impressive that an entire region is keeping a lid on the sets though...

Burbank just performed and they were AMAZING!!! The vocals were AMAZING and the choreography was SUPER CLEAN. And I LOVE their show design. Those who will have a chance to see them live this year are in for a big treat. They were AMAZING!!!!

Evening session is sold out, but tickets left for day session and probably available at the door.

I chose to call it the Pow Wow because I thought of it as a friendly gathering of the "tribes", or choirs, to prepare for battle. Arcadia's nickname is the Apaches and they work with the White Mountain Apaches in Arizona quite a bit. We send groups to perform at their reservation and send them clothes and things because they are not a rich tribe. They have no casino, like so many other tribes. They have sent tribal performers to our schools and we pay tribute to them often. Our drill team, banner bearers for the marching band, and color guard wear outfits styled after traditional apache dress.

Anyway, I thought the Pow Wow was a good name for the competition. I did it with no reservations!!! It's number 20 this year

That's pretty awesome. Good luck to all the groups, it looks to be an exciting evening.

They do sell them at the door, but the number of tickets is limited. I would get there early.

Perhaps it pertains to the venue, i remember it being kind of Aztec themed.

We are no longer in the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse. since last year's Pow Wow, we have relocated to Arcadia's on campus venue, the Arcadia Performing Arts Center.

Arcadia High School's mascot is the Apaches, which is a native American person inhabiting the southwest United States and northern Mexico. So I would assume the contest reflects their team name/mascot. Pretty interesting, I have never thought about it before!
