Just wanted to say that this was a great competition. Everyone from the performers to the hosts and even the parents and volunteers. Everyone is always so friendly as well! After the day round I was pleasantly surprised by a couple of choirs. Webster City and Vermillion it was great to see you come to this competition for the first time! Benton I always enjoy your show, and you have a great director that always does a fine job of putting it together for you. CPU is always a force to be reckoned with at Dutchmasters. Everyone did a great job. My favorite of the day and I had you in first after the day round was a choir I have never seen before and that was Keokuk. You performed the show great and filled up the auditorium with great vocals. Love the set and the show your director has for you this year. Awesome job! Also a shootout to Acapella and Mama C, you guys always bring it even when its your exhibition. You just plain love to perform. Also my favorite Emcee Wes always brings the energy as it should be done!Just wanted to say it was a pleasure to be there sharing the day with all of you show choirians!

Thanks Mr. B! Wish I could have seen you on Saturday, but there were a few thousand people in my way! Overall, this was probably one of the best Dutch Masters competitions we've hosted. There was so much talent on display this past weekend. I was glad I wasn't a judge, because the finals featured six outstanding groups. We love hosting this event each year, and I'm excited to see how competitive "small school" show choir has become over the last 6-8 years. Come see us at Mo Show this year...it's the first day of our Bahamas cruise/Disney trip!

We list the captions next to the respective choir in each division unless a group makes finals, in which we list their captions along with their overall award for the competition. This way it shows up in their record on the choir page. It's certainly possible for vocal/choreo scores to change during finals, but if a separate caption award is not handed out after the evening round, then the group that originally won the caption is still rightfully credited as the winner of that caption as it was handed out at the event. Hopefully that makes sense.

LoL. I wasn't complaining or anything...just explaining why the captions might have been questioning to someone!

Just to clarify, the caption awards were given away during the daytime and they gave away a Best Vocals, Best Choreography, and Best Best Band for each division.

Thank you for such thorough results, especially the lower divisions which are often neglected. Everything has been added above.

Congratulations to Keokuk for jumping from third in the daytime round to first in finals! They also managed to snag the GC without any captions, so the scores must have been close!

Emmetsburg "High Voltage" and "Black and Gold" have had to withdraw because of the re-scheduling of Boys District Basketball to Saturday night after the northern Iowa blizzard. Good luck to all the groups attending!!

> Removed from above schedule

One of my favorite weekends of the year is almost upon us....Dutch Masters 2014! Blue Sky Productions will once again be providing video production of the event, we've got exciting action photography by Stover Photography, wonderful food in the Dutch Masterpiece Café, livestreaming of all groups, and 34 fantastic groups taking the stage over the next two days. What more could a show choir aficionado desire!??

Performances Friday night kick off at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday's festivities will be rolling at 9:00 a.m. Hope to see you all there, and follow along on the Tweeter with #DMshow choir all weekend for pics, vids, and updates.

Best wishes to all groups competing...don't hold anything back, leave it all on the stage!!!!!

#DMshow choir

Videos of each group's performance will also be available to watch through the Pella site on the www.highschoolcube.com website after the competition.

Looking forward to a great weekend!

Jeff.
I believe all the MS groups prior to the break in the schedule are non-auditioned, and the groups after the break are auditioned.
Thanks!

Also....
We will offer livestreaming of Dutch Masters this year, and the livestream videos of each group will be available afterward on the Pella High School website, in addition to the outstanding videos produced by Blue Sky Productions. More details to come!
