Ankeny will win. They just put on a phenomenal show. I currently have Hastings in second.

There should be a rule to how many songs can be in a medley though...

This is a pretty normal clause in competition rule books here in Iowa. We're kinda awesome like that

I was on the competition website and found this in the rules section;

"Choirs are free to present any type of performance they wish. There is no minimum or maximum number of songs a group must perform."

This could be standard ruling for all competitions. I just thought it was amazing

I've given up playing the predictions game years ago... but feel confident in saying this: I wouldn't count out Davenport Central. CSI has a history of coming out STRONG. No one has predicted them to make finals in this topic- yet they tend to always make finals at their first competition (they've been to some pretty intense Waukee and Linn Mar comps in the last few years). The last time they didn't make finals at their first competition was 10 years ago at Linn Mar after their long time amazing director Sally Riewerts had retired and their new director was a newbie. Just my two pennies.

Obviously I love show choir for just being show choir, but a statistic like this makes me giddy. Streaks like this in sports or any sort of entertainment, and the possibility of them being snapped, add an extra level of excitement.

Good luck to everyone this weekend! This competition will be crazy.

We are in for a treat my friends! Can't wait to see all the groups! I've heard a lot of talk about ankney and hasting this year can't wait to see them! Gonna make a prediction on who will make finals (because I honestly have NO idea what's gonna happen here!) so in no order

Ankney
Hasting
Kennedy
Iowa city high
Bemidji
Urbandale

Best of luck to all the groups! I'll be there at 6:15 (gotta love when your younger sister has to be there that early and you don't want to waste your gas driving all the way home (;) all the way through finals!
