Yeah you only told me everything i already knew... We ALL KNOW HN had a bad year in 07 and 08... They're STILL rebuilding and having a rough time now. 2004 LC didn't GO anywhere or compete against anyone with any clout. 2005 i was at ISSMA state and LC had a decent show i think they ended up 2nd but i had them 3rd (i believe Ben Davis got third then...). We know what happened in 06, You told us what happened in 07, What happened in O8 though? hmm

And Obviously i know CS and Sweets won't be at this comp... Thats why they are not in my predictions dummy.

dummy? hahah isaid nothin bout predictions an in 2008 we got 2nd to cg by 4 points at our first comp and the rest of the season was dwn hill. vocally we placed hig but visually we got killed.

Sometimes, I feel like we mostly have agreeing opinions, i'd like to hear what you have to say about Carmel's mixed show last weekend? Did you like it? Are they on par with last year?

Honestly, I think last year's show and this year's show of Carmel are two very different shows. Last year, their show definitely centered around the broadway style and had great technique. This year, their show has different styles of dancing and some of their songs are very emotionally grabbing. I personally love their show this year more than last year's show. So whether they are on par with last year's show or not I think is a matter of opinion. However, this year is not as clean and the vocals could be stronger in some areas, whereas last year their show was extremely clean and stronger vocals by state. If they improve their cleanliness and vocals by this weekend, like they did last year for state, I feel that this year's show will surpass last year's show. That is just my opinion.

I keep close tabs on Carmel and I am out to see them succeed, which is why I am so hard on them sometimes. I would like to see their choreography be sharper, their vocals have better diction, and their facials portray the emotions of their show more. Basically, I would like them to have more energy this year.

Your thoughts?

The accents show this year is by far my favorite show of theirs thus far. Let me know if you fall asleep during their show because I dont think it is possible. I believe that they will sweep all captions over debtones.

Central Sound and Sweets won't even be at this competition wow.

And in 2004 Central sound was undefeated until they lost against attache at MIC and 2005 they won at ball state and were in 1st goin into finals at MIC but ended up in 3d i think. 2007 central sound beat huntington north, vocally, choreographically, back up band and overall at Anderson. so i think there are more than just 2 wins. but i will not argue. just putting up some facts.

but women i thin debtones will def get the gc. accents are always good and sing...loud but i personally have not been ablole to stay awake while watching one of their shows. which is not necessarily because of them but its jus what happened. I like parts of accents shows but i generally fall asleep.

Debtones however are always entertaining even when sound systems fails (last yr). but choreographically it may be close. i haven't seen any shows this year so i can't make any good predictions other than what i know from years past.

Even if CG beats carmel this weekend, WHICH i bet they won't, It will prove NOTHING about how good they are compared to LC...

Every single season LC has a million "supporters" on here, talking about how underrated their choir is, and how Amazing they're doing this year... Even 2007 and 2008 which were argueably their worst years, there were 10 people on here talking about how incredible they were and if they lost, they got "jipped".

LC has had 2 remarkable victories in 4 years...

Last week against Center Grove (which, from what i've heard from trusted knowledgeable people was not a great show at all...)

And the other one that everyone ALWAYS brings up...

MIC 2006: LC beat out HN and FC for GC at the competition.

The truth about that contest is, HN was head and shoulders above everyone else there during prelims... Going into finals they were way ahead, though unfortunately they went LAST during prelims, and FIRST in finals... They had a TERRIBLE show, unlike any "down show" i've seen and still managed to hang on to 3rd place...

LC has gotten lucky a few times and caught people on a down week, but they are not worth all this controversy.

Predictions:

GC: Carmel (Clean sweep all captions)
1RU: Center Grove
2RU: Warren Central
3RU: Zionsville
4RU: Anderson Highland/Castle

Lawrence Central beat Center Grove

Will Carmel beat Center Grove?

Could Carmel beat Lawrence Central?

Basically, if Center Grove beat Carmel, techniqually Lawrence Central should be able to beat Carmel at state if Carmel was competing, because Lawrence Central beat Center Grove. It isn't a true test because groups progressively get better, there are show changes, etc. But straight up on the scale, Carmel should beat Center Grove if they want to even be considered as the group that would win state if they were competing. They have a lot to prove and defend at this competition.

I think for Carmel, this competition is even more important than ISSMA because Center Grove doesn't compete at state so it isnt a true test of top Indiana school show choirs.

I think it is also interesting that Lawrence Central and Carmel uses the same choreographer this year.

If Carmel won this competition, there is no telling if they would be able to beat Lawrence Central because they are not going to state.
If Carmel lost this competition, I think it will be assumed that Carmel would not have won state if they competed.

All in all, I wish that Lawrence Central, Center Grove, and Carmel would all three go to ISSMA because that would be the true test of the top Indiana high school show choir.

I am looking forward to the outcome of this competition because there is a lot to be proven here. Any thoughts?

This competition is only taking 3 Single-Gender and 3 mixed in finals so...this is going to be a for real "competition"

They're taking in 5 mixed as far as I know. When Pike's director posted the schedule, he said 5 mixed are going into finals.
